This is the serious vacationer's destination. It has an enormous, beautiful bay, considered one of the best in the world for windsurfing. The lovely, white-sand beaches are postcard perfect and proud of it. Adjacent to the beach is the main street of Cabarete teeming with shops, boutiques and services.
Arrange your adventure tour at one of the many tour operators, or arrange a short term car rental to explore the coast on your own. Cafes and international cuisine restaurants line the street and beach. The shops, services, restaurants and night clubs enjoy lengthy hours every day. Three supermarkets and several pharmacies situated right on the main street.

If you are interested in trying any of the numerous activities, e.g. snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing and kitesurfing, operators located right on the beach are available all day long and will offer lessons. A short taxi ride away is the 9 hole Costa Azul Golf course. There are three ATM Banking Machines that will access your home accounts. There are numerous foreign exchange booths all along the main street. The town comes alive at night with discos and night clubs starting around 9:00 p.m. and go into the wee hours of the night. Internet cafes are numerous and easy to find. The boutiques and shops offer fashionable beach and summer wear. There are several reputable jewelry stores specializing in the famous Dominican Republic semi-precious stones 'Larimar', amber and black jade. All this plus a self-contained villa no more than a few minutes away makes this a perfect long stay destination.
