From a superb hillside position, Villa Adriatica crowns a panorama of lush
green hills leading down to the sea. Surrounded by gardens of lawn and
fruit trees, this modern Mediterranean villa enjoys a choice of panoramic
terraces that emanate from many of the rooms including one that spans
the rooftop and looks out over the Adriatic.
The furnished pool, set on a lower level, has a covered terrace from which
to relish the views. The decor combines tasteful and comfortable
contemporary pieces with arches, tiled floors, trompe l’oeil and works in
stained glass made by the artist/owner of the villa. All bedrooms have sea
views and French balconies. The kitchen features a barbecue fireplace.
Maid service and meals may be arranged when booking. Firewood is
included in the price.
Less than two miles away is the coastal city of Ortona for shopping and
sightseeing and the entrance to the autostrada. From its port, Ortona also
has a summer ferry to the amazingly beautiful Tremiti Islands off the
coast of the Gargano promontory. Legend has it that Diomedes, a hero of
the Trojan War is buried here. Closer to home, excellent beaches span the
entire coastline. Pescara, with its nightlife and air or rail links, is within an
hour by car; the art cities of Chieti or Lanciano: 30; the majestic Maella
mountains: 45; L’Aquila or Sulmona: 100; Rome is just over two hours.
