Property Information
From a superb hillside position, Villa Adriatica crowns a panorama of lush green hills leading down to the sea. Surrounded by gardens of lawn and fruit trees, this modern Mediterranean villa enjoys a choice of terraces that emanate from many of the rooms including one that spans the rooftop and looks out over the Adriatic.
The furnished pool, set on a lower level, has a covered terrace from which to relish the views. The décor is simple yet inviting, like visiting the home of an Italian nonna. Arches, tiled floors, trompe l'oeil and works in stained glass made by the artist/owner of the villa are all featured inside. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and with the exception of the ground floor bedroom, all others have French balconies and sea views. The kitchen features a barbecue fireplace.
Maid service and meals may be arranged when booking. Firewood is included in the price.
Less than two miles away is the coastal city of Ortona for shopping, sightseeing and the entrance to the autostrada. From its port, Ortona also offers summer ferry service to the intoxicatingly beautiful Tremiti Islands situated off of the Gargano promontory. Legend has it that Diomedes, a hero of the Trojan War is buried here. Closer to home, excellent beaches span the entire coastline.
Pescara, with its exciting nightlife and air or rail links, is within an hour by car; the art cities of Chieti or Lanciano: 30; the majestic Maiella mountains: 45; L'Aquila, Abruzzo's capital city and home to medieval castles, a moat and an awesome cathedral brimming with mysterious Templar clues or Sulmona's rich, almond filled confetti: 100; Rome is just over two hours away by car.
