Property Activities

The Town of Ponce Inlet is a place where the old and new blend to create an eclectic mix of the true old Florida, the nostalgic 50's and 60's Florida boom cement block houses, modern oceanfront concrete condominiums, upscale Mediterranean mansions and a trend setting planned unit development sporting luxurious amenities. This blend exists comfortably and along with commercial marinas, seafood restaurants and open air taverns where residents can meet and enjoy good company, food and island music. Poised to open is the Marine Science Center in Lighthouse Point Park . The center provides an innovative learning experience where visitors can discover, enjoy and appreciated the many wonders that embody the extensive and varied marine world that exists in Volusia County. The crowning jewel of Ponce Inlet is the Ponce de leon Inlet Lighthouse. This National Historic Landmark is one of the few remaining complete Light Stations is the country. Travelers from around the globe make their way to our seaside village to climb the 175 foot structure that has shown it's beacon to seafarers since 1887. Life in Ponce Inlet provides all of the service of the millennium but the flavor and history of the old fishing village that once was Ponce Inlet is the prevalent theme never to be forgotten or set aside.

Ponce Inlet is a Boater's Paradise. The weekends are for Disappearing Island, named for what happens to it at high tide! Families relax the day away in the cool, clear water while enjoying the ocean breezes rushing in the inlet.

The World's Most Famous Beach

The Daytona Beach Area is the perfect spot for vacationers looking for easy access to Florida's other attractions. Conveniently located less than an hour from area attractions including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, historic St. Augustine and Kennedy Space Center, Daytona Beach has long been known as the World's Most Famous Beach - and with good reason! Our 23 miles of great white sand beaches boast warm waters and abundant marine life. You can get away from it all on the untouched beaches of Ponce Inlet and Ormond By -The -Sea. If you prefer to be in the center of the action, spread your beach blanket on the hard- packed sand of Daytona Beach, Daytona Beach Shores or Ormond Beach. Enjoy a full day of sun, sand, surf and the best people - watching you'll find anywhere!

Enjoy the unique experience of driving on our beautiful beaches - beach driving has been a Daytona Beach tradition since the turn of the century. Carefully controlled traffic patterns and a strictly enforced speed limit makes a day at the beach a fun - and safe - experience for everyone!

The beach offers a variety of activities for the whole family. Rent beach bikes or motor scooters and explore our miles of beaches. Better still, see how it all looks from the air as you try your hand at parasailing. The Main Street and Sun Glow Piers are popular spots for salt water fishermen. While they are busy looking for their catch, nearby surfers wait for a catch of a different kind - a great Daytona Beach wave.

Sailing and jet-skiing as well as surfing are very popular. Competitions in these ocean sports are held throughout the year. The nearby Halifax River or Intercoastal Waterway also provides activities such as powerboat cruising and commercial boat tours. Deep sea fishing charters depart from several marinas daily. A half-day trip costs as little as $25 per adult. This includes bait & gear for catching the "big one". Charter boats are also available.

Nature lovers will enjoy strolling along the shore and may be lucky enough to witness a newly -hatched sea turtle emerge from its nest and make its way to the ocean's edge bolstering the ranks of this endangered species. Volusia County's Turtle Protection Plan is helping to protect this fragile species during its nesting season.

The sunset photo was taken at Casa De La Mare.

One of the nation's finest racing facilities, the Daytona International Speedway hosts the world-famous Daytona 500 each February. "Speedweeks" features both stock car and sports car races. Major motorcycle races are staged in both March and October in conjunction with "Bike Week" and "Biketoberfest".

The area also boasts many parks for more outdoor activities and nearly 30 golf courses.

From fast-paced excitement to nature's simple pleasures, you can find just what you're looking for on the World's Most Famous Beach.

Quiet Ponce Inlet, located just south of Wilbur-By-The-Sea on the southernmost part of the peninsula is a salty village of casual restaurants and visitor attractions. Climb Florida’s tallest lighthouse (and the second highest in the U.S.); the swirling 203 steps reward you with a stunning 360-degree view of the Atlantic and salt marshes of the Intracoastal. Around the lighthouse, a cluster of buildings explore different aspects of Daytona history. In the same neighborhood, the Marine Science Center opened recently to educate about mangrove and shoreline ecology and the plight of endangered sea turtles. After touring the attractions, stop in one of the local waterfront cafes for a cold one, a fresh grouper sandwich, and an eyeful of quiet saltwater marsh and the birds that also feed there.
