SPECIAL NOTE: This is a non smoking apartment and is not suitable for children.
The apartment is on the fourth floor of an 1870s building and overlooks the courtyard. Decorated in warm and luminous colours, the apartment has been recently renovated to combine traditional, original features with comfortable furnishings and modern appliances. The style and location of this 60m2 apartment would ideally suit those who value space, comfort and a genuine Parisian village experience away from the madding tourist hordes.
The kitchen is situated in a corner of the dining room and has just been completely redesigned to the highest specifications. Fully equipped with new appliances and pretty crockery, any cook will appreciate its convenience. We love to cook so we have ensured that you don't need to struggle with inexpensive cookware!
The original marble fireplace and mirror in the dining room make this a charming space for eating or planning your sightseeing at the dining table. From the dining room you pass through an arch into the salon (see photo at the top of this page) which, like all other rooms, has its original marble fireplace. This is a very spacious room furnished with a comfortable sofa, an antique canapé, television and antique lamps. When you enter the salon you will find it is warm and inviting. You may just want to curl up with a glass of wine and a book but we hope you will explore the city and area instead. The salon, bedroom and dining room each have original moldings, marble fireplaces and recessed bookshelves. They are heated by new and efficient electrical radiators that will keep you toasty in the coldest Parisian months.
The bedroom is furnished with a luxurious queen-sized bed and cosy duvet with 100% cotton bed linen. Big European pillows and a deep padded headrest make it a snug room for sleeping and reading. A corridor off the salon leads to the bathroom. The blue bathroom has a typical Parisian bath tub with shower, wall heater and piles of fluffy, cotton towels. There is a separate WC inside the front door. At the end of the corridor you will find ample drawer, hanging and storage space. This provides you with plenty of room to spread out your suitcases and many shopping bags during your stay.

The Area - Popular with musicians, painters and writers, figures such as Chopin, Dumas, Delacroix and George Sand have all lived in this neighbourhood. Reflecting this heritage, the 9th is full of theatres and hosts two museums of the Romantic Movement: the Musee Gustave Moreau and the Musee de la Vie Romantique. Vistas of elegant buildings with beautifully ornamented facades stretch away in all directions. Bordered to the north by Montmartre and to the south by the Opera Garnier and Madeleine, the 9th offer a "real" neighbourhood within easy walking (or short bus ride) distance of the major sights.
Location - Rue Condorcet lies immediately south of Place d'Anvers, below Sacre Coeur. From stepping off the Eurostar or the airport train at Gare du Nord you are an easy 15 minute flat walk to our front door. Step outside the apartment building and immediately you are surrounded by a boulanger, award-winning traiteur, boucherie, supermarket, flower shop and coffee merchant. The boulanger opens at 7.30AM so you can pop down to buy your warm viennoise au chocolat to enjoy with your morning pot of coffee. The Café Danube on the corner is a very typical bar with a young artistic scene and makes a good choice for your early evening kir or pastis. One block along rue Condorcet brings you out into pretty Place Trudaine and the renowned rue des Martyrs shopping street, which runs from the church of Notre Dame de Lorette up through Montmartre. Here you will find a bewildering choice of specialty food shops. We particularly recommend Charcuterie Lyonnais for its ham and quiches and Fromagerie Molard for its perfect artisan cheeses. Eating out doesn't mean having to go far after a long day's sightseeing. Rue Condorcet and neighbouring streets are blessed with great restaurants where you will be warmly greeted. If you enjoy cooking, the nearby rue Lepic market and the Batignolles organic market will delight you.
