No wonder people who know about Kauai's beautiful and dramatic North Shore ask for Pali ke Kua by name.This spot on the planet(#109 of Pali ke Kua) is Stunning! Besides having THE CLASSIC VIEW of all Hawaii:the mountain Bali Hai & Hanalai Bay (introduced thru the 50's musical South Pacific and celebrated in song), we're also just steps from a private paved trail, complete with viewing benches,down thru lush tropical flora teeming with birds, at the bottom of which is a lovely hidden beach.These most sought after views of Hanalei and Bali Hai(Mt. Makana is the actual Hawaian name)are in view from almost everywhere inside #109. Incidentally Hanalei was also celebrated as the place where Puff the magic dragon frolicked. Now you're more likely to see surfers, and if lucky maybe musicians even playing and frolicking.
With whales in the winter, turtles year round,incredibly exotic marine life, birds in abundance,and lush tropical trees,plants and flowers everywhere, you could practically never leave the immediate grounds and ocean and still have a great experience communing with nature in any number of ways. The sunset views over the ocean and at another time of year dropping behind Mt. Makana are some of the most gorgeous sunsets to be found in the world and on the island.Photo ops abound!
You will quickly learn that some beaches are best for sunning, swimming, and snorkeling, while others should be for surfing,windsurfing,Hawaian canoeing, but Not swimming.Fortunately ours is the former.After a day of Hiking the numerous trails, taking a surfing lesson, horseback riding,playing golf at the Prince or Makai Courses located in Princeville, tennis, sightseeing, etc if you don't feel like cooking or driving,or biking to the grocery or a restaurant in hanalei, you can dine at our on-site new restaurant. Also on site is a swimming pool, outdoor whirpool, and barbeque.
Our particular unit(the #109 is quiet, easy to reach on the ground floor, which allows us to walk right out from our lanai, is also less than 60 seconds from car to door. Parking lots are well landscaped and not noticeable. And although we have many units in our association, it is always quiet and peaceful and doesn't feel crowded.
