Sea Haven is a beautiful little cottage, perched on the water's edge, on the sheltered Eastern shore of Discovery Bay, in about an acre of private landscaped garden. Steps on the left lead into about two feet of water, and a ladder on the right into about six feet of water, with great swimming. There is an off-shore floating swim platform, two kayaks, and a heated plunge pool, 11 feet by 21 feet, with 16 Jacuzzi jets and a tilted bench facing the sunset! In the dappled shade of a tree by the water's edge is a delightfully pretty gazebo, nearby, a cut stone barbecue. This wonderful seaside gazebo is a special place where many relaxing moments will be spent. Watch beautiful sunsets from this prized location.
The villa contains four bedrooms with bathrooms en suite. There is a huge well equipped kitchen, a wet bar with under-the-counter ice maker, computer with free internet access and three-way fax, scanner and printer. A sixty foot verandah overlooks the sea. Sea Haven sits on a private waterfront acre. It is a most charming tropical cottage with lovely antiques chosen by this owner. Antiques include a rich mahogany table and chairs Circa 1780 from Admiralty House in Port Royal, and were used by Lords Rodney and Horatio Nelson when he was an ensign!
The living room opens up wide onto a wonderful furnished veranda. Many comfortable moments will be spent here on the lovely wicker chaises, draped with flowering vines and overlooking the spectacular blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Working at the house are four staff, Alfred the Butler, who has been there for 21 years, and Elva the Housekeeper, both full time, and Angela the assistant housekeeper and Paul the gardener, both part time.

Discovery Bay is located on the north coast between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. This area remains quiet, unspoiled and offers one of the most scenic sequence of brilliant blue bays, white sandy beaches and colorful fishing villages. History says Columbus "discovered" Jamaica in 1494 when he landed in Discovery Bay. Recent research, however, suggests that he only sailed into the Discovery Bay Harbor in search of fresh water. Finding none, he named the place "Puerto Seco” (Dry Harbor) and proceeded west to the next harbor, a river which he named Rio Bueno. Jamaica’s original inhabitants, formerly called Arawaks, put up a valiant fight. Columbus overpowered them and claimed the land for the Queen of Spain.
Today, Discovery Bay's main point of interest for travelers is Puerto Seco Beach, which is nicely maintained and has changing rooms, clean toilet facilities and a snack bar. Calm waters and a shallow shelf make this protected bay a popular weekend destination for families from as far away as Kingston.
Travel 30 minutes due East to Ocho Rios. Travel 1 hour due West to Montego Bay.
