Farnum House - a private country retreat surrounded by woods and nature in the upper northwest corner of Litchfield County Connecticut. With proximity close to Hotchkiss School and Salisbury School, it is ideally located at the base of the lower Berkshire Mountains... and yet only 20 minutes to Metro-North's train station at Wassaic for direct service to New York City.
This charming house is filled with comfortable high-style furnishings mixed with antiques. On the ground floor there is master bedroom (queen bed) with private bath, dining room, living room, kitchen. Secluded totally private patio off the kitchen. Upstairs has two bedrooms (one with a queen bed, the other with twins), a shared bath and a lounge/desk work area.
The cottage on the main level has a living room with wood burning firestove, separate dining room, lovely contemporary kitchen and master bedroom with private bathroom and washer and dryer.
A neutral palette of colors throughout makes for a relaxing environment.

OTHER CONDITIONS:
- Cleaning Service at $80 per session required every 20 days of stay or per weekend stay
- Small Dogs of 35lbs or less, pet deposit required.
- Air conditioning. We can provide units on request. Rentals in the summer months include standard electricity usage and one a/c unit; if you wish to use additional a/c units, additional charges will apply and an additional electrical deposit will be required.
RESERVATIONS / DEPOSIT REQUIRED / CANCELLATIONS:
Request for reservations will be honored for 7-days with no money; a deposit is required to hold the reservation - $1,000 for stays of a month or more, $500 if less than a month.
Then 50% payment (less the initial deposit) is due 60 days from start of rental is required; or this payment is due at time of booking confirmation/signing lease if within that period. Balance due plus security deposit of $500 due on move-in day. Pet deposit of $250 is a separate fee. Cancellation less than 45 days from start of rental will incur a $1,000 fee if staying for a month or more; $500 for stays of less than a month.
Arrivals are requested not before 3pm, and on departure by noon.
