Nature has done most of the work to make the island resort of Toberua like nowhere else on earth. She has been lavish in her gifts of unspoiled natural beauty, warm weather and a location which is easily reached yet set apart from the busy, tarnished tourist routes. Stepping on to the white, sandy beach of Toberua island(pronounced Tom-berua), you immediately find yourself in a totally new world. Just 4 acres when the tide is in, around 20 when it retires twice a day. Explore Fiji luxury at its very best.
To maintain your privacy, we have built only 15 bures on the island. Extremely comfortable for two people; very comfortable indeed for a small family. Each bure is set right on the water's edge. As you cross the patio and enter your "island home" you will be impressed by the height of the ceiling, soaring 27 feet above you. Paradoxically, in addition to offering you all modern conveniences including electricity, en-suite, refrigerator and round-the-clock hot water, your bure has been constructed in the traditional Fijian "Chiefly" style. This manner of building dates back many centuries and has survived through the passing on of the many craft skills involved from family to family, father to son.
All ensuites include an outside private courtyard.

A two-night deposit is required to hold your reservation. The full deposit less bank charges is refundable on 21 days cancellation prior to arrival date. If your stay is shortened, no refund or credit will be given for the unused days. We suggest you carry travel insurance.
We have two types of rate plans at Toberua.
The Accomodation Plan (STANDARD RATE) which is accomodation only.
The Inclusive Plan (PACKAGE RATE) which includes accommodation, return boat transfers, and three meals per day per person.

Wedding:
As more people are looking to get away from the traditional wedding that includes large numbers of family and friends, we find more requests for weddings to be held at Toberua.
Toberua offers an ideal location for a Fiji wedding. Privacy, no more than 30 guests. You can book the island. The setting - on the beach, by the pool, or among our gardens or our special wedding bure. The day is yours.
Our weddings include a traditional tree planting ceremony, where you get to plant a tree to commemorate your special day. A small carved sign is placed beneath the tree for all to see.

Dining:
Our specialties include island cuisine, seafood fresh from the ocean and continental dishes supplemented by a selection of locally grown tropical fruits and organic vegetables from our own gardens. We also have a full bar service with a wide selection of Australian, New Zealand and California wines.
Meals are usually eaten outside, especially in the evenings, when they are taken under the stars. You'll hear the beating of the lali (Fijian drum) when the chef is ready to tempt you to our island cooking. Waitresses will bring you the menu wherever you are to take your lunch and dinner orders and complimentary morning and afternoon tea is served outside the bar. Nothing quite equals candles on snowy linen, stars above and gentle guitars accompanied by the murmur of the ocean to make mealtimes occasions to remember for ever.
We intentionally keep our menus international in flavour but will also offer you a choice of many intrinsically Fijian taste temptations, together with others drawn from Fiji's Indian and Chinese communities. Nature has surrounded us with a bounteous sea and we obtain our fresh sea foods from local fishermen who bring their catches right to the beach (as do many of our guests as well). Crayfish, prawns (in season), lobster and a myriad of unique crustacea provide irresistible attraction at the table - as do constant supplies of luscious tropical fruits.
Our Toberua Serenaders will gently fill your nights with music as you enjoy your meals and it may not surprise you that it is the Fijian custom for ladies to ask gentlemen to dance!
Dining alone in your bure is no problem, just say so and your meals will be brought to you there. If you have young children we prefer they eat an early dinner. To join with friends for dinner parties just ask when your order is being taken.

During your stay, you will find plenty - or nothing - to do. Every day brings new decisions to make. There is good snorkeling straight off the beach and we also take a boat to the edge of the main reef where keen snorkelers enjoy a visually scintillating array of marine life and coral formations. If you've never tried drift snorkeling before, our boatmen will introduce you to this wonderful and most rewarding experience. Very good scuba diving is also available for certified divers in the Toberua Passage, a relatively short boat trip from our island resort.
You also want to enjoy time with our staff who will involve you in various activities from traditional basket and hat weaving, to the many uses of the humble coconut, to hearing about Fijian legends passed on from generation to generation and always retold in an interesting manner. You'll find our staff to be very special people, proud of Toberua island and Fiji and always happy to talk with you about their way of life in their wonderful country.
Getting together with our staff at the end of each day for an energetic game of Volleyball can be just the thing to spark one's appetite before dinner.
In the bar you'll find the "library" where the tacit rule is "take one, leave one"; thus our titles change constantly and should be as up-to-date as the latest top ten. In addition to reading, other activities can be satisfied through Petanque, ping pong, backgammon, Pool, Scrabble, Cards, Monopoly, Pictionary, Jenga, Fuss Ball and many other fascinating divertisements.
You'll find a small but comprehensive gift shop next to the pool. Snacks, souvenirs, clothing, health and beauty items are all to be found in the shop. For an exciting visit to the 'mainland', you're welcome to make the trip to Suva where you can browse the local markets for handicrafts and duty free items
