Opal and Ivan, two major hurricanes, came our way in the last decade.
The original house was built in 1960, and, at the time, was one of just a handful on the coastal barrier isle, named Santa Rosa and dubbed locally , “Okaloosa Island”.
When the wind and water of Hurricane Opal (1995), all but completely destroyed the house, we expanded and rebuilt with many improvements. Then, when, the eye of Hurricane Ivan made landfall near Pensacola Beach, in September 2004, it was time for more R & R (repair and renovation). "Opal's Landing" is now better than ever!
Inspired by an appreciation of the effect of color and light on the spirit, we’ve attempted to create a playful, yet peaceful ,environment for your R & R (rest & relaxation).
During your stay at Opal’s Landing, we hope you will find comfort and calm, shelter from the storms of daily living.

The Beach House location provides:
Easy access to the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico via sidewalks and beach boardwalk.
Our beach access is just across the street (this side of the the white building, shown upper left)
Patio accessed through French Doors provides a view to the west of the setting sun.
The walled courtyard, located on the north side of the house provides a place for private sunning and outdoor dining. A grill is provided for your use.
