Las Cumbres is an exciting luxury rental villa on the Mexican Riviera overlooking the Pacific Ocean in amazing Manzanillo, Mexico. Manzanillo, in the state of Colima between Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco, is set on the Santiago Peninsula between two sparkling bays - it's a location that must be seen to be truly appreciated. This area offers miles of stunning beaches with your choice of either gold or black volcanic sand.
Outdoor amenities in the Manzanillo area abound with beaches for sunbathing, surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, or scuba diving. This area is also billed as the "Sailfish Capital of the World" with deep-sea fishing charters available for marlin, dorado (mahi mahi), roosterfish, and tuna. Golf, hiking, horseback riding, biking and bird watching are also available for your enjoyment. If your favorite pastime requires warm weather and sunshine, you're bound to find it in Manzanillo!
But the real attraction of the Mexican Riviera is the relaxed environment among the local people combined with the excellent climate and beautiful environs. The state of Colima is a very safe place with virtually no crime in Manzanillo. There are few tourists, no lines, no crowds, and few fast-food chains, all positive traits that are not often found in resort towns of this caliber. Superb seafood dishes, traditional Mexican fare and even international cuisine can be enjoyed inexpensively at open-air restaurants while listening to the soothing sounds of the Pacific Ocean. You will find that your dream vacation here is far less expensive than expected.
"Las Cumbres" in Spanish literally means 'The Summits'. Situated high atop the Santiago Peninsula, the villa overlooks the tranquil water of the Bay of Audiencia and the spectacular beaches along the shore. Beyond is a clear view of the Pacific Ocean, the Sierra Madre foothills, Santiago Bay and another collection of beautiful beaches for you to explore. You too can have a mountaintop experience enjoying the ambiance of this Mediterranean / Mexican style villa.
The secluded Bay Of Audencia is within walking distance from the Villa and is favored with perfectly safe, crystal blue water and a sandy beach. This is the beach where the movie ‘10’ starring Bo Derek was filmed and where sailors from Cortez’s galleons granted an audience with local Indian Chieftains in 1523 - thus the name 'Playa de La Audencia'. This area offers access to many water sports, cruises, the Real Resort (formerly the Sierra) with spa and dining, and a beachside restaurant (Mexican Ramada) where you can rent an umbrella with table and chairs for the day and have drinks and lunch served by people eager to make your experience enjoyable. The Las Hadas resort is within close proximity as well.

Set atop a protected hillside, Villa Las Cumbres is relatively hidden retreat that enjoys cool temperatures and strong breezes from the foothills of the Sierra Madre. This luxurious rental home on the Mexican Riviera offers four bedrooms with tiled baths along with gorgeous views of the water and soothing sounds from ocean waves tumbling on the beautiful sandy beaches below.
Spread across two lots, the Villa affords the safety and tranquility of Mexico's Santiago Peninsula with easy access to the local beaches and other attractions. Yet it is sufficiently removed from the congestion of the more developed areas of the Mexican Riviera. The miles of beaches along Santiago Bay and Manzanillo Bay as well as the acclaimed golf courses are a quick drive away as are the towns of Santiago and Salagua with their markets, shops, restaurants, and nightly entertainment. The weekly market, “Tianguis”, is a street market that is set up every Saturday in Santiago and is the perfect place for you to sample the culture that makes this part of Mexico so special.
As a student of architecture and landscape architecture as well as a contractor I can attest to the quality of the construction of this villa and the surrounding grounds. The Villa has all the right touches. As a long term resident of this part of Mexico remarked; “this is one of the nicest homes in Manzanillo”. The foundation is solid concrete buttressed with stones and the construction received high marks from structural engineers who inspected the home.
There are no outside stairs to access bedrooms on multiple levels as you will often find on similar rental homes in this part of Mexico; rather all living areas are enclosed on two levels and connected with gentle interior staircases. The woodwork throughout the Villa is hardwood and the workmanship is impeccable. The kitchen is fully-equipped and beautifully detailed - even if you hire a cook for your stay in this luxurious rental you will enjoy spending time in the kitchen. Each bedroom includes ample built-in dressers and closets along with fans to supplement the ocean breezes.
An art professor from the university in Guadalajara designed the outside fountain and figurines for the Villa. The artwork throughout the home is tasteful and indigenous to this region of Mexico.
Included in the amenities of this luxury rental are daily maid service (limited on Sunday), pool service, and plant care for the beautiful grounds. Arrangements can be made with the Villa Manager, who speaks English, for a driver and vehicle, scenic tours, golf outings, scuba diving, massages, manicures and pedicures, a hairdresser, and so forth. A cook is available at extra cost to prepare breakfast and dinner for you, including authentic Mexican dishes as desired, but please note that the guests pay for their food and beverages. Also, tips for the villa staff, who work very hard to make your stay in Mexico a truly memorable experience, are always appreciated.

The Dye Family designed the La Mantarraya golf course over thirty years ago. This golf course, located at nearby Las Hadas Resort, is noted for a hole with a sand trap located in the middle of the green and a par three, man-made island built out in the ocean.
Club Santiago&nsbp;is located less than ten minutes from the villa. It is a semi-private golf course with nine holes that is well worth a visit.
Isla Navidad, which is less than an hour drive, offers twenty-seven holes of ocean and bay front fairways. Golf Magazine awarded this golf course one of only two Gold Medals in Mexico. The mounds and views are abundantly striking.
Last but not least is El Tamarindo, rated as one of the 10 best golf courses in Mexico. Carved into the jungle, it features tall trees, ocean views, and undulating terrain. The course is not crowded and is extremely unusual for a number of reasons, not the least of which are the monkeys often seen on the course! This golf course is a ninety minute drive from the villa.
