If you searching for things to do in Maggie Valley, look no further. Located on the fringe of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and two national forests, outdoor pursuits like hiking, camping, biking, whitewater rafting and horseback riding are favorites. You can also head over to the Cataloochee Valley area of the park and see the elk, which have been successfully reintroduced into the park.

After being closed for nearly 5 years Ghost Town is under going a rebirth. The planned opening date is Memorial Day Weekend 2007. Located at the top of this mountain, in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, is a mile high fun center with an old west setting. To get to the top you must either ride a chair lift, or a railway tram and this is an adventure in itself. When you go to Ghost Town you can fulfill all your fantasies of visiting a wild west town complete with bank robberies, jail breaks, and gun fights.
