Built in 1937 by Bermuda's most famous architect, Wil Onions, and his esteemed associate, the landscape designer Val Bouchard, the 5-chimneyed one-level home is built in the handsome style of stone homes crafted 300 years ago. The utterly private estate enjoys 900 feet of magnificent shoreline with not another house in sight and views from St.Georges to Somerset Bridge.
The studio apartment is an extension of the main house. The property enjoys a private entrance and a beautiful 200 square foot covered verandah accessed through cedar French doors into the garden with its olivewood tree surrounded by flowers and a quietly splashing fountain. The landscaping on the property is a gardener's deligh. The waterfront features nesting sites for rare seabirds, wonderful snorkeling and a sandy cove you can swim into. Miniature gardens tucked in behind the shrubbery provide quiet places to read or sun bathe.
The suite has the following amenities: air-conditioning/heat, an eat-in kitchen with full-sized appliances including a microwave and a gas stove, and a livingroom-bedroom furnished with two single beds that zip up into a Queen sized bed on demand. The bathroom is a 4-piece including a bathtub.
Recently renovated and redecorated with attention to every detail, the suite will appeal to those who wish to swim, cook, read and rest in a pristine garden setting of peace and quiet, overlooking the ocean.
To get into Hamilton for business or shopping, the bus or the ferry stops are nearby. Public Transportation in Bermuda is quick and reliable and provide excellent value and service. The apartment has movie service on demand for an additional charge, TV and a telephone line for access to the Internet. The Internet requires a dial up account arranged with a local service provider- an easy thing to organize
