Villa JMS has a style all its own, with a simplicity that makes for total relaxation. The villa is designed as a no-hassle hideaway, what some guests have come to view as a luxurious tree house. The house follows a gentle modernist design tradition — classic and beautiful — the perfect get-away spot for lazing around the luxurious infinity pool, enjoying cocktails & a good book on one of the many verandas, or dining open-air amidst the gentle, hibiscus-laced evening breezes. Guests can do it all at Villa JMS — or nothing at all — which is what most guests choose. After all, why come to paradise if you can’t have it your way?
There are two levels to the freshly renovated Villa JMS. The main level is an open-air, bright, and breezy space that supports a large living area open on both ends for gentle breezes. The front of the main level living area looks out over Pointe Milou and towards several of the lovely out islands between St. Bart’s and St. Martin — with St. Martin in the distance some. The lovely and luxurious infinity pool, designed in warm Italian glass tile, is at the front of the main level. Guests sit for hours in the pool reading and staring out across the Caribbean — usually breaking to take a lovely lunch in the shade of the dining area under a wonderfully translucent ceiling nestled amidst a garden grove at the rear of the main level.
Villa JMS is unique for its large and well-designed kitchen, which is fully air-conditioned and equipped with advanced Miele and Gaggeneau appliances. The kitchen — and its large and very accommodating island — soon becomes a popular destination for most guests, whether they choose to cook themselves or to hire help.
Two master bedroom suites are to the left and right of the main level — self-contained nests for retreating to total privacy. Both suites feature full bathrooms and all the luxuries one would expect at this level. These two master bedroom suites at Villa JMS are often compared by guests to suites at some of the finest hotels in the world. Guests love the option of sleeping open-air in the suites, listening to the calming surf down the hill as they slip away into a gentle sleep.
The villa features two additional bedrooms on the lower level, which share a bathroom and a large veranda. These two bedrooms are available for an additional charge; guests usually prefer them to accommodate young children and a nanny.
Villa JMS sits amidst it’s own beautiful tropical garden just up the hill from the luxurious Christopher Hotel, which guests often frequent for a casual dinner or an easy lunch after a sun-drenched lounge by the villa’s pool.
