Experience all of wonderful New Orleans while staying in one of the oldest Creole Cottages in the city. This home was built circa. 1808 and has some of the finest examples of architecture and details fashionable in the 1700’s and early 1800’s. You will be staying one short block from the French Quarter and one block from Bourbon Street.
THE HISTORY OF THIS AMAZING HOME
This elegantly decorated Creole Cottage built, “of columbage and bricked between post” circa. 1808, is one of the rarest examples of early Creole cottage architecture remaining to date. This home is in the first subdivision of New Orleans named Faubourg Marigny. The plantation was subdivided in March 16 1806. This home retains almost all of its original architectural features including; its rare Ram’s horn hinges and original latches on the French glass doors. There are also very outstanding long latches which were used to open and close the doors. The ceilings are original and are “dressed and beaded” which are rare to find intact to day. The mantels are the most distinguishing interior elements in Creole domestic architecture. Two of the mantels are box mantels in the style dating from the late 1700’s to 1810 with columns supporting a frieze having strong horizontal moldings. The floors are beautiful large plank and the original moldings are intact. This property was sold to one of the first women of color to purchase property in the United States. Madame Magdalene Baure’ purchased three lots which now form the sites of 1426 and 1434 Burgundy and of 928, 930 and 934 Kerlerec. This property now has 4 other cottages, two of which were believed to be very early barge board cottages from the early 1800’s most likely moved here at a later date. There is also a servant’s quarter at the back which is possibly one of the early buildings on the property. The main house and other cottages all have the conveniences of the modern home. This property is now a very quaint and lovely Guest House (B&B). Experience the amazing architecture very few ever get to see in and elegantly decorated home constructed almost 200 years age.
Kerlerec House can be rented for groups of 1 to 20 guests. Our suites are wonderfully furnished with the original architecture and beamed ceilings and all the modern conveniences of home. The main house is rentable as one unit accommodating up to 8 guests. It can be added to if more space is needed to accommodate the number of guests in your group with the addition of our other suites or cottages. The two bedroom, guest cottage can sleep up to six, using the loft and the queen size futon. The one bedroom guest cottage can accommodate up to 2 guests. The garden cottage can accommodate two guests for the ultimate privacy. The Kerlerec House is available nightly with a 3 night minimum as well as weekend and extended stays. The Kerlerec House is conveniently located one short block from the French Quarter and only one block from world famous Bourbon Street. It is located at the center of all New Orleans has to offer, the local scene on Frenchman Street, as well as all the amazing tourist attractions. You will be staying just a short walk to some of the most famous restaurants in the world. Experience New Orleans day or night as a local would in one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city then retreat to our elegantly furnished guest house (B&B). There you can rest comfortably and quietly. Enjoy three wonderfully lush courtyards and other sitting areas or relax in our Jacuzzi hot tub.

Kerlerec Complex: which includes all three houses, can be rented for a large group (up to 20 people) for $1,200.00 per night.
Mardi Gras Suite: 2 Bedroom Cottage ... $250/night for 4 guests plus $25 per guest over 4, Max 6. This cottage can accommodate a maximum of 6. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has a queen size bed with a full size in the loft. The living room can accommodate 2 additional guests on a futon. This suite has a kitchen and full size bath.
French Quarter Suite: 1 Bedroom Cottage ... $175/night for 2 guests plus $25 per guest over 2, Max 4. This cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests. It has a king size bed in the bedroom with a futon in the living room for 2 additional guests. This cottage has a kitchen and bath.
Garden Cottage: $150/night for 2 guests. This cottage has a full size bed, a sitting area, kitchen and bath.
Jazz Club: $100/night for 2 guests. This suite includes full size bed, galley kitchen, and full-size bath.
Crow's Nest: $75/night for 2 guests. This suite has a queen size bed and a futon. This suite can be included in the main house rental. The Crow's Nest is tucked away at the top of the main house with a private deck only accessible to this suite. This unusual space is for those not looking for conventional accommodations.
Kerlerec House: $400 / night for 4 guests additional guests $ 25 a night up to 10 guests. The main house has a queen size bed in the master bedroom and 2 full size beds upstairs. The main house also has a double parlor with a futon, formal dining room and a large spacious kitchen with French doors leading on to the veranda. A party of 12 or more guests can rent the entire house which includes the Jazz Club and the Crow’s Nest which gives a total of 5 bedrooms and 4½ baths.
Minimum of a 3 night stay required for all rentals. A 4 night minimum required during special events.
Rates may vary depending on time of year and during special events.
All suites have access to the courtyards and hot tub.
No breakfast served.

We can accept VISA, MC, Discover, American Express or money order. The most secure method of payment is to phone us directly or fax us at 504-944-8544. You can also e-mail us at info@kerlerec.com with your payment information with credit card number; expiration date and name as it appears on the card and the billing address for the card (please break the card number into two separate e-mails for added security).

50% deposit required upon booking.
Remaining balance required 14 days prior to arrival.
Booking rates vary during “special events”.

Cancellation Policy
* 30 Days notice required for 50% refund of deposit (minus 4% fee).
* Less than 30 days notice, no refund.
* 90 days notice required for 50% refund (minus 4% fee) during "special events".*

* 4% processing fee retained for all cancellations.

“Special event” dates include, but are not limited to: New Year, Sugar Bowl, Super Bowl, Final Four, Mardi Gras, French Quarter Fest, Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, Jazz Fest (last weekend of April and first weekend of May), July 4th (Essence Festival), Labor Day, Southern Decadence, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and certain conventions.
The owners/management will not responsible for accidents or injury to guests or for loss of personal items of any kind. ALL GUESTS MUST BE REGISTERED.

Kerlerec Complex:
For larger parties the entire complex of 3 buildings is available and will accommodate up to 20 guests. The main house includes a sumptuous living room with hardwood floors and and a ceiling fan, a fully-equipped huge kitchen with all modern conveniences, pass-through bar seating to dining room, which has a fireplace original to the house, a courtyard and covered sitting area.
The Kerlerec House is fashioned in the brick and post construction made famous after the infamous fire that literally burned the city to the ground in the 1780's. After the disaster it was mandated that this method of building was to be used in all future construction. Hence "The Main House" is a fully renovated 1790's Creole" Brick & Post" Cottage. In the entry hall, the original brick and post construction has been exposed, so you can enjoy yet another taste of the past.

Kerlerec House:
The spacious main house constructed circa 1808 is elegantly furnished with beautiful antiques and is one of the oldest Creole Cottages in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood. This home retains most all of its architectural details such as dressed beamed ceilings, large plank hard wood floors, original cypress mill work, 2 box fire fireplaces fashionable in the late 1700’s and early 1800’s, 2 beautiful antique gothic stained glass windows and a formal dining room. The main house has a TV in the bedrooms and formal living room which is decorated with many antiques from the late 1800’s. There is a stereo with CD player in the living room and 25” TV.
There is a lovely antique replica queen size sleigh bed, dresser and chest of drawers downstairs in the master bedroom. The upstairs bedroom has a full bath and two full or double size beds and one single bed along there is also a sofa, TV, DVD.
We will rent the Main House, which is called the Kerlerec House, for up to 8 guests. This does not include the Crow’s Nest or the Jazz Club. This space includes the double parlor (living room), entry hall, one bed room downstairs, a queen size futon in the living room, the upstairs with 2 full size beds, dining room, large kitchen with dishwasher, 2 baths, access to washer/dryers and hot tub.
Groups of 10 will also get the Jazz Club included which has a small kitchen and a full bath. You also can include the Crow’s Nest which has a full size bed and a futon and a full bath.
If the main house is not large enough for you group we can include any number of our other suites to best suites you needs.

French Quarter Suite:
Designed by students at the Tulane School of Architecture, vaulted ceilings make this 1-bedroomsuite especially attractive. Spacious living room. In front of and to the side of this accommodation are 2 lovely courtyards. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, cable TV/VCR, telephone and CD player. The King bed in the bedroom is an antique replica with antique side chairs from the late 1800’s. There is a queen size futon in the living room and the bathroom is a full private bath. Room includes access to washer/dryer.

Garden Cottage:
A studio apartment with a spacious sitting area and queen bed. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower, cable TV/VCR, stereo/ cd player, and telephone. Relax on the patio complete with the hot tub right outside your door.
Accommodates 2. An economical monthly, corporate rental. All of the suites have a microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, wine, martini and champagne glasses as well as high ball and low ball glasses. Includes access to washer/dryer.
Mardi Gras Suite:
This festive, 2-bedroom guest cottage with its vibrantly painted walls in bright Mardi Gras colors of green, purple and yellow has a spacious living room with vaulted ceilings and a dramatic brick fireplace. This suite was designed and renovated by students at the Tulane School of Architecture. After a long day of meetings or sightseeing, kick back in this lovely furnished cottage, lounge in one of the lush courtyards just outside your door or relax in the Jacuzzi hot tub.
Enjoy your morning newspaper and cup of coffee while sitting at the large antique table in one corner of the living room. Relax in the master bedroom with its Queen size bed, mahogany furniture and antique chest of drawers. The second bedroom features a full size bed, chest of drawers and a full size bed in the loft above. The living room can accommodate 2 guests on the Queen sized futon. This cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom with full private bath, cable TV/VCR, stereo/CD player, and telephone.

The Jazz Club:
Just a few steps from 2 gardens, this cozy studio apartment is enchanting. Tucked into a corner of the bedroom is a cloth bedecked table that sets the mood for a romantic, candlelit moment when you uncork a bottle of or just to relax with your morning coffee and newspaper. Of note is a fireplace, original to the house, and a beautiful gothic stained glass window in the bathroom. This accommodation has a queen bed, fully equipped kitchenette, a bathroom with an old-fashioned claw foot bathtub plus shower. Cable TV and telephone.
