Testimonials
As close to heaven as we could get for a vacation Marine wife - North Carolina
Date of Stay: June 2008
Our stay at the John & Lucille Country Retreat was the best vacation we've ever had. From the incredibly comfortable beds to the fully equipped kitchen, there was nothing the proprietor had not thought of for our comfort!
We were greeted with the lovely display of fresh flowers, a delightful welcome basket of goodies, and luxury that could only come from a very thoughtful host!
This was so much better than staying in a hotel as we were able to fully enjoy our family members as we played table games (we found in the closet waiting for us!), sat in the living room and chatted and even watched the children play among the trees in the large yard! We were close enough to all of the attractions in Eastern North Carolina tp enjoy them fully. We came back to the country retreat every evening and relaxed under the stars in the quiet, peace that can only be described as country living at its finest!
We can hardly wait until next year when we can vacation again at this lovely place. We think we have truly found a gem in this delightful vacation home!

After driving for 900 miles to reach ths beautiful home, we cannot express the feeling of welcome when we entered the door. We have had a lovely two weeks. The boys loved the surf. We had a great trip to Cape Lookout, Fort Macon, Harkers Island, Hammocks Beach State Park & of course the beach. The Gray Family, Toronto, Canada 7/12/2009
Thank you so much, Deloria, for sharing your retreat with us. It is so homey and comfortable. You went all out with the goodies in the basket, fruit, fresh flowers, water in the fridge. You made us feel so welcome with the personal card. My grandson was ecstatic when we came inside the house. His first response was "We must come back here." Both grand kids had a ball. There was so much space for them to play and ride their bikes. It was such peace for the adults and all the amenities were so thoughtful. We had a wonderful time!! M. Exeims 6/19/2009 |
