Property Information
Our house was recently used to film a scene for an upcoming movie with Richard Gere and Diane Lane called "Nights in Rodanthe". Movie is due to be released in October of 2008. This is one of the few oceanfront beach houses in Carolina Beach! Concrete covers the area under the house with plenty of room for parking by those staying the week with no concern of shared parking with other units. A well stocked kitchen area is designed for easy food preparation and provides room for large family meals. The enormous ocean front porch allows groups to enjoy the sights and sounds of the surf or have a relaxing outside dinner. On the street side there is a porch complete with rocking chairs and swing for those cool nights away from the ocean side breeze. There is a utility room with washer and dryer that also serves as excellent storage for beach chairs, fishing gear or even several bikes.

Property Activities
North Carolina Aquarium and Fort Fisher Civil War Museum are 5 miles away. The closest fresh water lake to the ocean on the East Coast is behind the house and has concrete biking/walking trails, gazebos, paddle boats and movies shown on Sunday Evenings. Historic Wilmington has any activity that you would like as well as historic tours. There are fireworks on the boardwalk on Thursday nights during the summer months and don't forget Britts Donuts on the boardwalk. Freeman Park on the north end of the beach offers unspoiled beaches for fishing or swimming
The Beach House is conveniently located to the fishing marina, party cruises, restaurants and the shops of Carolina Beach. We are also located across the street from the Carolina Beach Lake that is surrounded by a concrete walking trail and also offers gazebos and paddle boats. The beach is wide and unaffected by previous hurricanes with a life guard stand that is manned daily during the summer months. Some previous guests have enjoyed excellent surf fishing in front of the house while others have gone in four wheel drive vehicles to fish on the north end of the beach.
For those of you who want to explore the area, we are 5 minutes from the recently remodeled NC Aquarium, Fort Fisher Museum and Civil War site, or you can take the ferry to Southport for a day trip to Myrtle Beach. Historic Wilmington is within a 15 minute drive and boasts many attractions such as horse-drawn carriage tours, fine dining, golfing, shopping, historic home tours, and the USS North Carolina Battleship. Some other attractions include the Children's Museum, Cape Fear Museum, The Bellamy Mansion and tours of the Screen Gems Movie Studios (where Matlock, Dawson's Creek and numerous movies have been filmed).
