This is one of our very favorite homes, for many reasons. Its inviting warmth the minute you open the front door, the creative architecture and décor, the luxurious amenities, complete privacy and only five kilometers from town. Not just any town, but Cortona, home of Under the Tuscan Sun fame. What more can you ask when you’re planning your dream trip to Tuscany? This one has it all.
This house is a home and you feel it the moment you turn into the driveway that leads up to the house. Nestled on a hillside overlooking the valley of Cortona, you enter the driveway to a grassy lawn bordered by cherry trees. From there you walk across the large terrace into a wonderful spacious open eat in kitchen and modern living room. This is a cook’s dream! State of the art appliances make cooking the fresh ingredients you bought at the morning market a breeze, while the rest of the guests gather around the fireplace and settle down on soft leather sofas that envelope them completely. A bank of large picture windows not only let in the light, but give you incredible views of the terrace, gardens and the valley that reaches to Umbria.
As you walk further back into the house, along the hallway, you come to a beautifully glass-in wine cellar with exposed stone. The smoky glass doors create a museum-like effect as you pass by to the formal dining room that will accommodate all eight guests. Beyond the dining room is another spacious living room with fireplace. Stairs lead up to the first floor where you find a cozy little study room with fireplace, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom which share a bathroom with shower. Another staircase leads up to the master suite with a large armoire and jacuzzi tub and a 52 inch flat screen TV and stereo. A charming cottage located just a few steps from the main house has a double bedroom with shower. The first floor also has a dry sauna and small fitness center and laundry room.
Back outside, outside the kitchen door, is a short stairway to the large and very private solar~paneled swimming pool, changing room and bathroom with shower. It doesn’t stop there! Past the terrace, in the back of the house is a very large and private lawn, perfect for the kids to play.
