Property Information
This newly restored beautiful home sits up high on a hilltop within a 2,500 acre estate and boasts some of the most beautiful views you will ever see in Chianti. It is literally the "House on the Hill". And what a house it is! Totally private and perched on the crest of a small hill top, surrounded by ancient Tuscan cypress trees, the Victoria dominates the outlying countryside. Mediterranean terraces surround the house and sweep down to the fields and woodlands below.
Victoria is a majestic and powerful looking property done in classic Tuscan Style. The pale yellow exterior sets off beautifully with the terracotta and old stone~paved entrance courtyard which leads up to an impressive double wrought iron and glass door that leads into a very special house.
The furnishings have been carefully chosen to represent the Tuscan décor at its best. All rooms are decorated in vibrant pastels which give off a luminous look, and a light and airy feeling. Luxury Italian fabrics are coordinated throughout the house and the furniture is solid and comfortable in Tuscan country style.
This is the perfect property ~ perfect location, perfect views, perfect accommodations, perfect English speaking hostess. Of course it is completely air conditioned! Which makes it perfect for family reunions, celebrations, parties and professional events.
The dream begins with a private cypress and maritime pine tree~lined country road that winds through the very heart of a scenic 2,500 acre estate. Sweep through the tall wrought iron~gated entrance with a stone~paved driveway that leads to a large parking area to the left of the house. On your right is a large courtyard with potted lemon and olive trees and large pots brimming with colorful flowers. Walk from the car park area across this courtyard to the main entrance of the house on your left and the large loggia that can accomodate 24 guests on your right.
Open the door to the beginning of what will be your memorable stay in Tuscany...
You enter the front door to a large foyer, its walls tinged in a relaxing pale blue with light smoky grey accents that easliy sets the calming mood that will be with you during your entire stay. What will strike you first is the airy feeling in the home, as the entire ground floor is bathed in light from the many large picture windows that frame some of the most spectacular views you'll find in Tuscany. To the left of the hallway is a spacious living room with three sofas centered around a beautiful large fireplace. This living room runs the full width of the house and will be a large focal gathering point at all times of the day and night.
Across the entrance hall and to the right, an archway leads into a large, formal dining room that overlooks the pool and more panoramic views of Chianti. Accessible through a series of archways there are views on all four sides of the house and it is one of the prized features of this home. The entrance hall runs from one side of the house to the other and through the façade of three south facing, full length double glass French doors, you can continue onto the terracotta paved portico and directly to the poolside.
On the other side of the dining room there is very large guest bathroom with double sinks followed by a laundry room with ample storage for all of your luggage. From the formal dining room you reach a small breakfast room that leads to a very unique glass~fronted, fully equipped professional kitchen with state of the art appliances. This remarkable kitchen faces the front of the house looking out over the courtyard with potted trees and colorful flowers on to the large loggia.
An ancient stone staircase leads from the front hallway up to the six double bedrooms each with their own en suite bathroom. All the bedroom walls are washed in soft pastel colors and have large windows that face either the east for sunrises, or west for sunsets.
The awesome infinity pool runs the entire length of the house and can be seen from many of the bedrooms. Bordered by a terracotta paved terrace, the pool lies right next to the house and literally on the edge of a tree topped crest. The floors and walls are done in yellow mosaic tiled along with the Roman steps that lead down in to the water and a spa Jacuzzi with a built in bench the entire width of the pool.
The south and west facing portico is perfect for relaxing pool~side for drinks or informal dining. Another outdoor living area is the large Tuscan loggia facing the front of the house and the gourmet glass~fronted kitchen. This loggia provides a wonderful outdoor living area for entertaining ~ set with tables and chairs and outdoor sofas, you will find it the perfect place to gather for dinners or just relaxing in the flower~scented afternoons, shaded from the sun. The long loggia is strategically placed within the courtyard of potted plants and trees, and easily accessible from the kitchen. You’ll find it perfect for entertaining. There is also a barbeque located here.
