Arashi Beach is our favorite
While we also enjoy the beauty of Malmok Beach and the fine sands of Palm Beach and Eagle beach, Arashi is world class and is just a few miles away. The sand and scenery both are just lovely. Away from the hotels, it generally isn't crowded and often is virtually deserted at the end of the day. Those who do come are mostly locals and bring a flavor that we adore. For us, a perfect day in Aruba ends by bringing the beach chairs (found in the bath house) to Arashi beach and reading and soaking it in and finishing with a splash.
As the Arubans say, "Hopi bon!!!" -- Very good!!!
We became fans of Aruba because it is more than just another vacation spot. The people are particularly friendly. The "Trade Winds" bring a pleasantness to the warm climate. Rain is infrequent. So most days are sunny and few have more than a passing shower. (No hurricanes.) It isn't just that crime is rare; people are warm and honest. They are multilingual; so language isn't a problem. Oh, and the assortment of restaurants. (Our favorites are under the "Dining" tab on our website.) So Aruba became our favorite island, and we keep going back.
For the adventurous, Arikok National Park, about nine miles away, is a wonderful day trip. From some places in the park you can see Venezuela on a clear day! There are some terrific walking trails and it's real desert, so wear sneakers and bring a few bottles of water (according to the UN, Aruba has the purest water in the world, so why not enjoy it?).
