Property Information
Beyond rows of golden wheat and sunflower fields extending past neighboring homes and farms rise the wooded hills leading to medieval Lucignano. Just over a mile away, this charming Tuscan hill town is sure to steal your heart. Come for the Maggiolata, an ancient rite of spring held on the last two Sundays in May and you may never leave.
This newly restored, working farmhouse is divided into three upper level apartments: our two separate entrance units and the owner's which is used on occasion. The ground level stores farm equipment.
A large pool, shared with the owners, occupies a good size clearing to the rear. Guests are welcome to pick their own vegetables from the garden, enjoy free use of the estate's bicycles and share a common laundry room with a washer and dryer. Even firewood for each unit's fireplace is provided at no charge.
At the front of the farmhouse, Lirico enjoys a furnished patio near its entry steps. Madrigale has a small loggia and its own furnished gazebo at the back of the home, establishing a sense of outdoor privacy for each unit.
The interiors have been furnished with the utmost care, creating a cozy and inviting environment without sparing the pleasures of modern conveniences. Screened windows, heated towel racks and air conditioning throughout are found in each apartment. Maid service may be requested when booking.
Within a 5 minute drive, Lucignano, with ancient dual roadways spiraling up and down is a cache of medieval art. Within its confines are five restaurants, a caffè bar, a grocer and artisans crafting ceramics, gold jewelry and honey infused olive oil. The outdoor market comes to town on Thursday morning.
The nearby Umbrian border and easy access road makes it possible to explore both regions. The A1, Monte San Savino or Sinalunga are all within 10 minute drives; Arezzo or Rapolano Terme: 25; Montepulciano or Lake Trasimeno: 30; Cortona or Pienza: 35; Siena or Perugia: 50; Assisi, Orvieto or Montalcino: 60; Florence or Castellina: 70; Rome: 120.
