The first time I entered the main living area of this gorgeous home it reminded me of a fine Inn I once visited in the Bahamas. Somehow a special feeling of relaxed understated elegance is accomplished by unifying more formal traditional furnishings with the casual indoor /outdoor lifestyle encouraged by island dÈcor.
The interior of this home is completely new. A recent renovation of this home created the quintessential Key West style with an open living room / kitchen / dining room floor plan which points to the back of the house. Designer lighting and light fixtures help to set the mood. Open beamed ceilings painted a soft white instantly lift the spirit. Several sets of single pane French doors open to the expansive deck and Grecian shaped swimming pool.
The pool deck is very private with a beautifully landscaped garden and offers the perfect spacious area for gathering, sunning and relaxing. For those who love to cook, the kitchen is a cooks dream equipped with owner's chosen chef ware, and offers a stunning view of the pool.
In an imitable Key West style, you would never know how spectacular this home is from the street side. What was once a typical shot gun style Caribbean Cottage, is now transformed and well camouflaged by a large variety of flowering plants. The front porch offers rockers that peak out onto the street to catch a glimpse of island life going by.
The home offers two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Each bedroom has the unique feature of a king size bed. The linens are fine Inn quality and luxurious. The master bedroom has a newly renovated luxury bath. The second bath is also beautiful and is located off the hall.
The general design and layout of the cottage lends it perfectly for versatile use. It is equally ideal for a couple who what an intimate get-a-way, two couples who each want a king size bed, a single who wants a private retreat with some space to stage a working vacation, or a small family. It will sleep up to four comfortably. A aero bed makes it possible to sleep an additional guest.
We are pleased to open this home as to those with a more discerning taste. Just 1.5 blocks from Upper Duval St. in Old Town Key West, this home is close to shopping, excellent restaurants, popular clubs, and the beach near the Southern Most Point of the United States.
This home is offered as an exclusive vacation rental in the most requested location in Key West. The property will not tolerate smoking inside. Only well behaved children are welcome. This property is not child-proof. We do not accept guests under 25 years of age unless accompanied by a family group or guardian.
Amenities: Swimming pool, expansive private deck, tropical flower garden, fenced yard, fully equipped cooks dream kitchen, central a/c, washer - dryer, color cable TV, stereo, c/d player, phone, BBQ grill. Linens furnished. Activities: Shopping, famous restaurants, bakeries, coffee house, walk to all Old Town features, close to Duval St., museums, boating, sailing, diving, snorkeling, night life, jazz club, theatre, family activities. No real need for a car. Walk or bike everywhere.
Area: Close to Upper Duval St., Southern Most Point of the United States, beaches (closest is just a couple of blocks away), all Old Town Key West features. Parking on the street, but readily available. Smoking permitted outside only. No smoking inside. No pets please.
