West Coast Villa 1 is a 5000 square foot 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom luxury vacation rental home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our luxury villas features wonderful amenities and they are perfect for a family reunion, group travel, weddings, receptions, corporate rentals and family travel. West Coast Villa is simply the best vacation rental home in Castro Valley and with Villa 2 it is the largest in the San Francisco Bay Area. We can sleep up to 17 guests in this home and up to 23 on the entire property.
Take a family vacation in Castro Valley, California in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoy luxury lodging in this gorgeous Mediterranean Villa. Families love vacations at West Coast Villa because we are centrally located to all Bay Area attractions with easy freeway access just a few blocks away. Whether you want to visit Monterrey, Carmel and Santa Cruz, or take a day trip to Napa Valley, or visit San Francisco, Oakland or Berkeley you will find that this vacation rental in the Castro Valley is close to where you need to be.
Don and Krista Robertson are the property owners and will give you a warm welcome as you arrive at West Coast Villa I. Enjoy the traditional Mission style architecture with large white arches and red clay tile roof. The home boasts an impressive 5000 square foot open floor plan with plenty of space for everyone, but intimate hideaways for quiet, restful relaxation. Our West Coast Villas are nestled on a beautifully landscaped 1/3-acre lot with tropical and native plants.
This well-appointed property features 5 large bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. As you enter this elegant vacation rental home you will immediately notice its open and comfortable atmosphere. Designer touches abound from the beautiful fresco, to the Tuscan faux finish on the walls. Large feature windows and walls of glass doors let the warm California sun fill the vacation home.
If you stay in the winter, you can relax by the wood-burning fireplace in the expansive sunken living room. Or if it's summer, step out to the 400 square foot roofed over patio to enjoy the refreshing breeze and collection of potted plants. In season, you can enjoy a variety of fresh picked apples, naval oranges, Mandarin oranges or help yourself to fresh lemons for fresh-squeezed lemonade.
If you prefer to kick back and soak in some music, enjoy the refinished upright piano, or listen to the sounds of music from the whole house sound system.
The eating areas will easily seat 24, but if we are planning an event for you such as a wedding, reception, family reunion or special dinner we can accommodate up to 50 guests for your special event. The side yard is beautifully landscaped and is a favorite spot for intimate private weddings. Guests enjoy sitting in the sun on the deck, or enjoying a starlit night in the hot tub.
The home has a beautiful formal dining room, and an expansive informal dining area. Large windows give you views of the hills surrounding Castro Valley, gorgeous sunsets, and views of city lights.
The dazzling kitchen with it's open informal dining area also features a large butler's pantry that we nickname our "mini Costco". Vaulted ceilings and skylights grace this room and extend into the sunken family room. The kitchen offers two stove-tops, two ovens, two microwaves, two sinks, and plenty of counter space so it is large enough for two cooks . Two dishwashers make clean up a breeze. The Mediterranean Cobalt Blue Tile counters bring back memories of Puerto Vallarta. All the necessary equipment is available for cooking, baking or simply making a piece of toast!
From the kitchen you will enjoy views of the rear terraced yard with an abundance of roses, tropical plants and citrus trees. There is also a 3-tier fountain beside a grassy raised terrace for you to soak up some rays (sun screen is recommended).
The family room is the entertainment hub of the home features a whole house stereo system with a 100 unit CD player, AM/FM stereo, DVD, VCR, surround sound, satellite TV featuring over 150 channels to watch on the built-in 36" Sony TV over a natural gas fireplace. This informal entertainment room has some fun elements such as a stain-glass window featuring a peacock. Pull up a chair and enjoy a game of chess, or recline and watch your favorite show or movie.

The master bedroom suite is over 800 square feet of elegant comfort. You enter through double doors and immediately feel the quality of this room with its thick pile carpet, Tuscan style walls and the grand views of Castro Valley, sunsets, the city lights and the bay from the 250 square foot veranda.
Enjoy the comfort of the plush Queen sized bed draped with high quality linens. Relax in the cozy sitting area, watch Satellite TV, or enjoy the stereo sound from the in-ceiling speaker.
The bright and airy master bathroom features glass block windows, a vaulted skylight and fresh reflecting colors. Double sinks grace the vanity cabinets with a sitting area for grooming. Imported Italian tile floors in a brick stack pattern add to this luxury Villa's charm and elegance.
This master bathroom provides the option of showering or bathing. The walk-in shower is a spacious 25 square feet featuring cultured marble surround with a glass brick wall. While the water showers down upon you, so will the fresh sunshine from the vaulted skylight.
If you prefer, West Coast Villa I offers a soothing step up cultured marble soaker tub designed to melt away aches and pains. The first morning rays of sun sparkle through the glass block window to brighten this room and give you a fresh start in the morning.
The room provides a private toilet room with Italian tile floors, as well as two large carpeted walk in closets for everything you bring with you. We do provide toiletries for you. You will find the master suite fully stocked with towels, linens and extra pillows.
This room faces west so sunsets are glorious from this room or step out onto the 50 foot long veranda to enjoy the sights of Castro Valley, the San Francisco Bay and the Peninsula. In certain seasons you'll see the San Francisco fog rolling over the hills from the Pacific Ocean.
Another feature of this second floor is an amazing built-in office with a library of more than 2000 books to enjoy. There is also a FAX machine, phones and a place to get some work done - that is, if you really want to on your vacation. But we do provide free local and nationwide long distance - and also free to Canada. We have hook ups for DSL high speed internet or WiFi throughout the house - and out in the yard if you want to surf the web while suntanning. It's not hard to see why the locals enjoy the area so much.
The vacation rental home also comes with full sized laundry facilities. We provide top of the line Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer are for your laundry needs. There is also a sitting area on this floor with DSL high speed internet connections and telephones. And WiFi will work anywhere in the house.
West Coast Villa I offers many amenities including a fabulous Mediterranean kitchen that, as one guest commented, "reminds me of Puerto Vallarta." Beautiful Cobalt Blue tiles highlight the expansive counter tops. The home includes a Jenn-Air range cook top as well as a a GE Gas Range and Oven. There is also a built-in wall oven and microwave. Two quiet Meile dishwashers make it easy to clean up even after a large family reunion. The side by side refrigerator includes a through the door ice maker and filtered chilled water.
Other amenities include a full range of dishes, cooking utensils, pots and pans as well as blenders, a slow cooker, toaster, rice cooker, coffee maker and everything you need to whip up a gourmet meal, or a simple sandwich.
A large walk-in pantry (we call it our mini-Costco) is stationed right off the informal dining room and includes a full size freezer. This vacation rental has everything you need for your family gathering.
The kitchen and eating areas are large enough to host an intimate wedding party - some have even considered this luxury California Villa as an ideal location for a small family wedding.
Just off the kitchen you will find a comfortable formal dining room with seating for eight. And adjoining the kitchen is another expansive informal dining area that seats 10-18.

Don and Krista, Many thanks for the use of your villa. We had simple goals when looking for lodging in the Bay area: clean, safe, and comfortable. Your villa exceeded our expectations. Not only was it beautiful and luxurious, but we also enjoyed the warm family atmosphere. My husband especially enjoyed chatting with Don and meeting the entire family. The best of luck in your future endeavors. We shall return in the near future to do it again.

We had the privilege of staying in the West Coast Villa II during the Thanksgiving week. We were very impressed with the wonderful accommodation provided and the hospitality that we received from Don and Krista. They made us feel very welcome and were readily available to help us find everything we needed in the Bay Area. The Villa is beautifully furnished with everything we needed to make us feel right at home. There is a washer, dryer, dishwasher and all the amenities that one would have at home plus the beds were so comfortable. Having three bathrooms was a bonus. We're so thankful that the Villa was available to us upon our visit to the Bay area and we will certainly stay there again. Truly a lovely vacation home and we would highly recommend it. |
