This vacation property is sitting on the edge of Thayer Lake. The cottage was built in the 1940s and retains the charm of a relaxing, casual ‘up north’ atmosphere. Each comfortable cabin is outfitted with an updated kitchen and a bathroom with a shower.
The Big Pine Cottage
The Big Pine Cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two twin beds. It also has a futon in the living area, a wood fireplace and a screened enclosed porch.
The Little Oak Cottage
The adjacent Little Oak Cottage has one bedroom with a double bed and an alcove sleep area with a twin trundle bed and a new screened front porch.The cottages have outdoor grills, picnic tables, outside chairs, and a lakeside fire pit.
The lake property has a dock and comes equipped with kayaks, canoe, and rowboat. There are both shady and sunny areas among the level, spacious waterfront. Pets and are not allowed and the cottages are not handicap accessible.

This Michigan vacation cottage is available May through September by the week with a discount for multiple weeks.
The Big Pine Cottage sleeps 4-6 and rents for $600 per week. If you have a large group and need more space then its smaller adjacent sister cottage Little Oak may also be available renting for $500/week and can accommodate 4.
50% deposit required to hold cottage for your week.

Other Unlisted Amenities
The cottage sits 400 feet from the road on the south side of Thayer Lake. The surroundings are quiet and the lake has a gradual drop off with a swim raft in about 5 feet of water. Swimming, canoeing, and kayaking are well suited for Thayer Lake, which is DNR no-wake restricted and covers about 80 acres with a depth of 25 feet. Thayer Lake offers superb fishing opportunities for bass, blue gill, sunfish, perch, and walleye. More than half the lake is undeveloped and the public access will only facilitate small trailer launches.
The cottages are located just three miles north of the charming town of Alden, which sits on beautiful Torch Lake. Large lake activities are available on Torch Lake with a public ramp one mile away and swimming acces on Torch just 1/4 mile away.
Nearby recreation includes several golf courses, biking, hiking, and shopping. The towns of Traverse City, Elk Rapids, Charlevoix, and Petoskey are within one hour’s drive. Sandy Lake Michigan beaches are located at various nearby spots.
