Date of Stay: July 2009
My family of 16 rented both the castle and guesthouse in July and had a wonderful time. This property is amazing. The layout of the homes was perfect for our group and the decor was outstanding. Jim gave us many great tips which helped us enjoy our stay. We used the kayaks that he provides for his quests and the snorkling in front of the castle was as good or better as any spot we snorkled. The beach area was also great. I hope that we can return to the Grand Cayman and stay at the castle again. It was perfect!

Our family of 17 stayed at the Cayman Castle with the Guest House and it was the best family vacation yet. Privacy, luxury, peace and quiet only start to decribe our stay. The house was clean and up-dated, the manager took care of our every need, we loved the location (away from busy Georgetown). With the information provided by the manager, our trip was planned by the time we booked from restaurants to sightseeing and groceries and customs. We haven't ever been provided so much good information and he didn't steer us wrong. This house was especially good for our big diverse group. The teenagers had their own space on the ground floor. Every couple had a nice room with private bath and the little kids were close in the room on the second floor. Views were spectacular, pool and private beach were so convenient. If someone wanted to nap, they did while others swam or kayaked. You don't get this in a multi-unit resort property or hotel. McCurley's transfers took great care getting us from the airport and had our rental cars waiting. Captain Marvin's private snorkel trip was awesome. Deep Sea fishing with Herman was great too (he came to the house and cooked our catch for lunch). Rum Point provided beautiful beach and water with lots to do. I highly recommend the Cayman Castle and Jim.

We are still in awe that we stayed at this marvelous castle! The castle and guest house were perfect for our large family, 12 people ranging in ages 78 down to 19, and a six-month old baby. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and beyond our expectations, The owner was extra helpful with everything including recommendations for activities and restaurants. We ate at the Lighthouse three times, just minutes away. Walked to Ocean Frontiers for diving, swam out from the beach to snorkel and found all the wonders of the Caribbean- including an octopus's garden. Although the heat held us hostage that day, we really enjoyed the Botanical Park on the East End. Blue iguanas spotted us, stared, then walked away. We chartered a private boat to Sting Ray Sand Bar, a must no matter how you get there. (We booked a $28/person boat later in the week-just as great. Be a good tourist and buy the well-worth-it video) We were so impressed with the low-key East End location. Seven Mile Beach: The madding crowd of George Town was 40 minutes away when we decided to budge from the relaxing comforts of the castle. Grab an Activity Guide at the airport for coupons for many restaurants and activities. The night dive on the Atlantis wasn't so spectacular, perhaps a daylight dive next time. Guy Harvey's Island Grill for great view and food, Cobalt Coast for more diving and best Sunday buffet. Most of all, we enjoyed our castle, and all of us have never felt so relaxed. There was so much to do, we just didn't do it! Unlike many tireless tourist traps, we were content hanging out, snorkeling from shore, or just gazing at the beauty of the Caribbean. Go, be royalty for a week. |
