Vacation Rental DescriptionWelcome to the ultimate in beachfront homes on the beautiful Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Little expense has been spared to make Villa Corazon Del Mar (heart of the sea)the Villa you have always dreamed of renting.Stunning white sand, unspoiled beaches and pristine clear blue waters, Playa Flamingo is the ideal vacation getaway. The Villa has recently been completed. Special amenities include an infinity edge pool that blends with the ocean. The pool has a swim up bar and therapy jets in a whirlpool area. On the patio is a bar/barbeque area. Two ocean kayaks and boogie boards are waiting for you to have fun in the ocean only a few steps from the patio. The gourmet kitchen has a beautiful granite top bar that can seat up to 10 people. The dining room table make of local guanacaste wood is large enough to easily seat 10 for exquisite dining. As you enter the home you will feel the warmth of Costa Rican woods as they are used throughout. The high ceilings, the cabinets, shelves and some of the flooring is made of a blend of the pleantiful woods indigenous to the area. The Villa is filled with original art work. Paintings, tapestries and carvings from Central America and the Islands collected over the last 30 years by the owner are on display for you to enjoy. WiFi is available throughout the house and grounds. Sit with your lap top by the pool and email photos of you in paradise to your friends. A large screen TV with DVD player is located upstairs in the 5th bedroom/media room. This is a great place for the kids to relax with a movie after a day of fun in the sun, while the adults are having cocktails on the patio before dinner and waiting for one of those spectacular Costa Rican sunsets to end a perfect day. Another TV and DVD/CD player are in the Great Room right off the pool. Outside speakers are on the patio to play your favorite tunes. Bring your Ipod and connect to the system. You will have your favorite tunes while enjoying dancing on the patio or sitting and enjoying our spectacular Costa Rican sunsets. Janet and Tomas are your caretakers. They are here to pamper you. They provide daily maid service and services Monday through Saturday. They are becoming famous for their cooking skills. Make this truly a vacation. For a small additional fee they will help you relax while you are served drinks of your choice and a suburb meal. You provide the food and beverages and they will take over to prepare, serve and clean up. Tomas is a bartender extraordinaire. Food shopping is made simple by ordering before you arrive from the Surfside market. Upon request we will send an order form to you and your home will be stocked with all your favorites, food and beverags, when you arrive. A secure and private lock down room is provided for your valuables. A monitored security system is in place with 24 hour coverage. The Villa has been designed to comfortably accommodate large groups or small intimate parties. The 5 bedrooms each have king size beds with pillow top mattresses. Two of the master bedrooms are directly off the ocean and pool. Two of the bedrooms have mini-kitchens and a private garden patio. They also have couch pull down beds for extra sleeping. The pull down beds can accommodate one adult or two small children. The fifth bedroom/media room is upstairs. It is a very large room and can accommodate the entire group for DVD movies or extra sleeping as it has two pull down couch beds plus the king size bed. The loft has two couch pull down beds. Playa Potrero is a very interesting bay. The Flamingo Marina is located at the south end of the bay. Sunset cruises, world class fishing and many activities await you. You have a perfect view of the boats coming and going from the Villa. The water out front is gentle and inviting. The perfect swimming/kayaking bay, gentle waves without any threatening riptides or undertow. This is due to an offshore rim of a sunken volcanic crater which encompasses the large bay. You have a view of the Catalina Islands that are part of the crater and offer some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the region. Three beachfront restaurants and two markets are within walking distance. Flamingo and Brasallito are minutes away by car. They offer shopping, banking, fine resturants and many activities. Tamarindo and Playa Grande are 30 minutes from the Villa by car. Playa Grande is one of the few nesting beaches of the huge Leatherback Turtle. Tomas & Janet are wonderful & truly make the visit even better. They cooked us 4 delicious dinners , great guacamole & the best pico de gallo ever! I only wish we had been fluent in Spanish as we had a few difficulties communicating. Dervin & his brother were a huge help for driving, fishing trips,sailing, zipline, & just all around assistance on every front. Our "fishermen" had good luck both days & we ate some fantastic fish! Catching rooster fish was so much fun as well! We loved being in a small village & took advantage of many local spots over our 10 days. Our favorite was The Shack. Their food(breakfast,lunch&dinner)was very good & their margaritas were the best! People were friendly & helpful throughout our stay. My favorite memory is sitting by (or in) the pool w/ our family every night & watching the sun set over the water-it doesn't get much better than that...our time at "heart of the sea" will never be forgotten.... All of us, from 5 year old Zoe to 70 year old me, thoroughly enjoyed the house and the amenities that are included with it. We used the pool more than I had anticipated. The other side of that coin is that we spent less time than I had anticipated on the beach. We didn't use the kayaks a whole lot, but our son-in-law and our 15-year-old grandson kayacked out to the island just off Flamingo and were very pleased with themselves. To sum it up, the house was almost perfect for our family. There are a number of people who helped make this a perfect vacation and anniversary celebration and to whom we owe a debt of gratitude. Tomas and Janet were always there when we needed them. They perpared two wonderful dinners for us, a Costa Rican meal and a seafood meal which we all enjoyed immensely. Like many of your other guests, we enjoyed their dog Sasha, which probably has the best "personality" of any dog I've seen. Then there's Dervin. What a wonderful guy he is. He did a lot to make our time memorable and enjoyable. He arranged a zip line and spa trip to Buena Vista for us, which was a highlight, and several days later he was our guide on a boat trip on the Tempisque, where we saw white-faced monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles, and many species of birds. He arranged for some of us to go horse-back riding on the beach and loaned us several fishing poles. He also recommended a great restaurant, where our kids and grandkids took Lee and me for our anniversary. As I said, it's been great. I can't tell you how special a family time it's been. Thank you so much for letting us use your "heart of the sea!" |
