Enjoy our renovated traditional Maine shore cottage located on 1 3/4 acres with 350' of sandy and rocky shore on a deep water bay. Cottage has 25' of continuous windows overlooking Pigeon Hill Bay, Bois Bubert Island, and Petit Manan Island lighthouse. Located on a two lane, dead-end road, our cottage is 1/2 mile from Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge, famous for birding. Eagles, ospreys, great blue herons, eiders, cormorants, terns, loons, seals, dolphins, shorebirds, seabirds, and songbirds are routinely sighted, along with deer, fox, porcupines, spruce grouse, and occasional bear and moose.
Our cottage is fully equipped for your stay with a double bed in the master bedroom (first floor); two twin beds in a second floor bedroom; and a queen-size pull-out couch in the Great Room. Full bath with tub-shower combination and full kitchen, including full size refrigerator with ice maker; full size range and oven; microwave; toaster oven; coffee maker; and all the kitchen items (dishware, cookware, pots and pans, and utensils) you need to enjoy your stay. Guests must only provide their bed linens and towels. Pillows and a generous supply of cotton, wool, and electric blankets are provided for your comfort and convenience. 100 channel satellite TV provided for those rare occasions when guests can tear themselves away from the spectacular scenery and quiet tranquility of Petit Manan. Petit Manan is a magical place that you will wish to visit year after year!
Our cottage is located thirty miles north of Ellsworth, ME; one hour from Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park; three hours from Portland; and 5 1/2 hours from Boston. The nearest major airport is Bangor, ME (65 miles).
For your enjoyment while visiting the Atlantic shore, our cottage has no telephone. (There is a telephone nearby for emergencies. Owners maintain a studio apartment above garage for their occasional personal use during the season.) Due to the continuing popularity of our Petit Manan cottage, we encourage early confirmed reservations to insure availability for your 2007 trip to the Maine coast.
