Cerulean: from the Latin word for "heaven." A popular shade of blue often used for painting the sky because of the purity of the color. Cerulean is emblematic of the breathtaking embrace guests feel from the sea and sky when they arrive at the villa.

Cerulean Villa is a spectacular retreat nestled directly on the beach at beautiful Barnes Bay. This private resort has set the standard for service, cuisine, and accommodations, offering its guests the exclusivity of a private home with all the amenities of a five star hotel.

The 13,000 square-foot estate, designed by world renowned architect, Deborah Berke, features seven spacious bedrooms, as well as ample indoor and outdoor living areas. Enjoy the large freshwater pool, Jacuzzi, tennis court, fitness center and lush tropical gardens. Sunbathe on the wide sandy beach right outside your door or relax with an in house spa treatment, while your children delight at their own personal Kid?s Club. With an exceptional staff of 14, the only thing you have to do is relax and unwind.

One of the most popular "super" villas in the Caribbean, with a high rate of repeat guests, Cerulean effortlessly brings elegance to any holiday or special event.

Open and airy and designed to take advantage of the spectacular views and breezes, the seven bedrooms at Cerulean have high ceilings and large louvered doors which face the sea. Designed for both style and comfort, the well appointed bedrooms are spacious, an average of 515 square feet, and include walk in closets, en-suite marble baths, and air conditioning. Built for privacy, each room has its own entrance off a covered breezeway and most have private terraces with comfortable seating arrangements. The rooms are equipped with land based telephones with free long distance service to the United States, i-pod docking stations, and wireless internet service. Although we believe that the best view is the one outside your window, televisions and video players can be placed in the rooms upon request. Photographed by both House and Garden and Italian Architectural Digest, the villa is outfitted with custom furnishings, stone floors, and mosaics, all of which were handcrafted exclusively for Cerulean in Mexico and Morocco.

While the bedrooms offer guests privacy, the common areas are designed for socializing and entertaining, with both outdoor and indoor living rooms and dining areas. Cerulean comes with all the toys one would expect, including a TV room, offering 60 cable channels, video players, a library of popular movies and books, and a sound system with speakers throughout the common areas that can connect to guest's I-Pods. In addition there is a dedicated guest office with a computer with broadband connectivity and fax machine.

Staff: Cerulean prides itself on providing extraordinary and personalized guest service. The highly trained staff of fourteen anticipates your every need, while remaining discreet and unobtrusive. The General Manager works with guests in pre-planning to ensure that every vacation is hand tailored to meet your expectations in a way that a hotel is just not able to do. From champagne shipwreck lunches on a deserted island to fireworks for the Fourth of July there is no request that we can not accommodate, but it is the little touches, such as cool, refreshing towels served poolside, exotic cocktails at sunset, and tropical flowers adorning your bed in the evening that set Cerulean apart. Whether you stay for a weekend or a month fulfilling your every wish is the only thing on the agenda at Cerulean Villa.

The staff includes General Manager, culinary team, maids, butlers, gardeners, and security. The house is staffed 24 hours seven days a week, with the bulk of the staff arriving before the first guest wakes up and staying late into the evening. Additional security, baby sitters, and secretarial services are available if needed.

We encourage prospective guests to conference with the General Manager to learn about the diversity of activities which can be arranged while staying at Cerulean. Upon booking, the General Manager will work closely with guests to preplan the menus, activities and accommodations.

Grounds: Just above the beach level is the heated 40x25 foot freshwater pool, which overlooks the sea and is lovely for swimming laps, relaxed bathing, or water aerobics. It features a shallow edge that runs around the perimeter of the pool, creating an ideal play space for children. Surrounding the pool is an expansive 3,000 square foot stone deck with teak lounge chairs, umbrellas, and tables for dining al fresco.

On a second floor deck above the pool is a Jacuzzi, situated in the perfect spot to relax with a cocktail, while watching the sunset over the sea.

Set within the lushly landscaped gardens is an Omni tennis court , whose fast drying cushioned surface is easy on the legs and body. Complimentary racquets and balls are available for guests use, and tennis lessons and clinics can be arranged with a local pro. Adjacent to the court is a covered viewing pavilion and a fitness center, equipped with a Precor cross training machines, treadmill, free weights, and a Cybex multi-station platform.

Cerulean's tropical gardens include a marble meditation court with a waterfall, which is a perfect place for a massage. Fountains throughout the property soothe with the sound of running water, and our full time gardener ensures that the grounds always look their best with aromatic fresh cut flowers placed around the villa daily.

Activities: At Cerulean Villa, there is an art to planning activities, or frankly, not planning anything at all. Scheduling can be detailed and well organized or spontaneous and open. No request is too big or small from creating your own private Caribbean carnival with stilt walkers, steel pan band, and limbo dancers to importing a specific brand of water that is sold only in California.

For guests who love to be active, there are water-based excursions: exploring coves and out islands by both motor and sail boat. Enjoy snorkel trips, scuba diving, lunch on deserted islands, deep sea fishing, and water skiing. Fitness, biking, beach volleyball, and tennis are available right on the property. We can also provide personal trainers or yoga, tennis, and water aerobic instruction on site.

Early morning nature walks, bird and wildlife sightings, horseback riding on the beach, and tours of local cultural sites and rum distilleries can also be arranged.

One of our signature highlights is the Cerulean beach barbecue, enjoy a Caribbean themed feast by candle and tiki light on the beach, and then move to a bonfire where you will be entertained by a local story teller, who will delight you with tales of Anguilla's history, or if you prefer something more active, dance under the stars to your own calypso band.

For families with teenagers, or small children, we offer our Kid's Club, with our highly trained children's coordinator, and for the adults indulge in an array of spa and beauty services in the privacy of your room

Spa: The Spa at Cerulean offers a full range of services to pamper and restore you, including massages, aromatherapy facials, body scrubs and wraps. We can provide a quick fix from the stress of modern day life or if you are in need of something more we can arrange an all day intensive spa experience to completely rejuvenate you. We use only the highest quality organic ingredients, and our spa manager is available to meet with guests at the beginning of their stay to recommend a menu of appropriate treatments.

Kids Club: Children are always welcome at Cerulean and in fact many of our guests find that staying at a private villa is the ideal way to travel with children. It affords them a sense of freedom that may not be available at a hotel, while at the same time providing a smaller more secure environment for them.

Cerulean believes that "a happy child makes for a happy parent" and we are pleased to offer our supervised children?s program, something that sets us apart from many other villas.

Children can choose from an array of activities such as; pony rides on the beach, glass bottom boat trips, pirate treasure hunts, arts and crafts, and cooking classes all under the supervision of our highly trained children?s coordinator. This not only affords children the opportunity to do something they would like to do, but it also gives parents time off to relax and do what they want.

Other Policies: All rates include exclusive use of the villa, its grounds and facilities, and full service of the staff. Rates do not include 10% government tax, 10% staff service charge, gratuities, food and liquor costs, extras such as personal trainer, telephone, etc. Rates are for a maximum of 14 guests, any guests over 14 will be charged an additional $250 per day per person. Rates for weddings, corporate retreats, and photo shoots are available upon request. Christmas/New Year's rates available upon request.
