The Deville House is conveniently located 5 miles from Highlands and Cashiers on US64 East. Only one mile from the highway on a paved road, you drive past the spectacular Wildcat Cliffs Country Club and numerous summer “cottages” to your home on top with only the ravens to look down on you. Privacy and tranquility are ensured by an acre of unspoiled woodland, through which several private paths join wilderness trails at the edges of the property.
Built in 1967-68, using native Highlands fieldstone and California redwood, the architecture recalls the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. Solid wormy chestnut removed from a nearby 100 year-old log cabin panels the interior. Each of the major pieces of furniture was designed by Jim Fox and custom made of rosewood in Hong Kong.
Just below the top of Whiteside Mountain on Wildcat Cliffs at an elevation of approximately 4850 feet from the Deville house you look over Horse Cove 2000 ft. below, Georgia and South Carolina in the distance. You are on top of the oldest mountain in the world. No other home in the Highlands-Cashiers vicinity can equal it!
