LUXURY ON THE BEACH
Sheltered by the Olympic mountains to the west and south, with a 180 degree panorama of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Vancouver Island straight ahead, this expansive executive beachfront home is the epitome of the good life Pacific NW style. Use the dinghy to row out and set your own crab pots or walk to the west end of our little bay and dig for clams. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and latte in the "treehouse gazebo" off the main deck while watching the shipping lanes for all of Puget Sound, Vancouver Island and the San Juan Islands. Victoria and the San Juans are both just a ferry ride away. Careful beach watching will showcase Trident submarines going through the strait surfaced, other large Navy vessels, pilot boats guiding in all the large ships and the Coast Guard chasing and boarding "suspicious" vessels. You can frequently see river otters playing in the surf, an occasional rogue pod of Orcas or a lone humpback, savoring krill close to the shore. In the afternoon we have several bald eagles that circle the property, scoping out the neighborhood while hunting for dinner.
The Great Room features views of the bay/strait through huge picture windows, a large marble fireplace, five skylights, comfy, "user friendly" oversized furniture, Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, European and Chinese antiques including a Bechstein concert grand, circa 1870's, and an antique gaming table with chessboard. The dining area, part of the Great Room showcases a ten foot long beveled glass dining table with twelve comfortable Parson chairs. Adjoining, but also part of the great room is a chef's dream kitchen with a six burner gas stove, double ovens, one electric, one gas, sparkling custom hood with Thermador fans, two sinks, granite countertops and kitchen island, an oversized Viking refrigerator and Capresso coffee machine (makes one cup at a time of fresh ground steamed coffee, plus lattes and capuccino).
The master bedroom or "Suite Chocolat" is in a separate wing of the house for optimum privacy. It features views of the bay/strait, gas fireplace and a King temperpedic bed with dual controls--sit up and read in bed while you partner lies flat, perhaps sleeping, perhaps just ultra-relaxing by using the "vibrate" button on the remote! You can snuggle while watching the latest videos on the 45" flat screen TV. "Blackout blinds" behind the silk drapes can be used to accommodate those who wish to sleep in. The 10' x 14' ensuite bathroom has skylights, heated tile floors and heated towel racks, huge jacuzzi tub, double sinks, a 4'x6' walk-in shower with two showers with three additional adjustable jets and more skylights. Step out the master bedroom door and into a large Finlandia sauna.
In the "west wing" are two additional bedrooms, with a shared bath. The "Scarlet Bedroom" has autographed Gone with the Wind memorabilia on the walls, and dark, "romantic red" textured walls. It has an eastern king bed and phenomenal views of the lily garden and beach. It has a private entrance separate from the grand entry and its own balcony. Cleverly hidden in the old linen closet is a refrigerator, microwave and Tassimo coffee machine. The adjoining room, "Le Jardin" has handcarved walnut furniture and is the only room with a view of the main grounds and garden. Because the furniture is antique we haven't altered it and only a "full" mattress fits this bed. The room has "blackout blinds" so late sleeping is easy. The west wing can be "shut off" from the great rooms for additional privacy and quiet at night. The bathroom has a soaking tub, heated towels and a skylight. The hallway in the west wing has three skylights. Both these bedrooms also have satellite TV, DVD & VCR combinations.

Nid d' Amour (The Love Nest)
"The Love Nest" is 1200 square feet of very private, self-contained luxury only 300 feet from the beach. Snuggle by the fire, romp in the Cal-King canopied bed, or dip in the outdoor hot tub in total seclusion, surrounded by old-growth cedar and lush ferns.
La Chambre de la Sirene (The Mermaid Room)
The Mermaid's Bedroom is a 400 square foot ensuite apartment only 50 feet from the water's edge. Special features include a large "periscope" window, an under the sea decor, a comfy King bed and use of a wonderful 20-foot combination swim-spa and a large Finnish sauna.
La Chambre Ècarlate (The Scarlet Room)
"The Scarlet Room" offers guest quarters in the main house in a separate wing from your hosts or other guests. This charming room features large picture windows, a private bath, delightful balcony overlooking the lily gardens and the beach, as well as enchanting views from your King sized bed. Relax and let the soothing surf sounds lull you to sleep.
Suite Chocolat'........
The Suite Chocolat' will be so romantic you'll want to stay and stay! And, upon your return to the real world will always cherish the memories you make here. The suite is in a separate wing of the main house and will feature an outstanding view of the Strait, even from bed. The room has a 45" flat screen television above the fireplace, satellite TV,DVD/VCR,CD player, a separate entrance and comfy large swivel chairs. This suite has a 14' x 14' bathroom with huge jacuzzi tub, double sinks, heated tile floors and towel rod and a 4'x6' shower with two shower heads and three additional jets.
