The Inn overlooks the Boston Post Road in a wooded residential area. The large shaded back yard slopes down to meet Fence Creek. The English garden (pictured below) on the side of the house is a favorite spot for relaxing in nice weather. The tidal wetlands of Long Island Sound are visible across the road in the front.
The Inn is within walking distance of the village of Madison and within one mile of several Long Island Sound beaches. The area offers many opportunities for shopping, touring, theater, outdoor and seaside adventures and dining. Area towns are known for their specialty shops, colonial historic districts, craft and fine art galleries, antique shops, lighthouses and museums. The many area restaurants offer dining choices ranging from shoreline casual to special occasion elegance, with cuisines of many cultures, sure to satisfy every taste.
There are so many attractions and activities in and nearby Madison that you will run out of time long before you run out of things to do, no matter what the season. The Inn's collection of menus and brochures provides a good starting place as guests decide how to spend the day. Of course, the Innkeeper, who has lived in Connecticut all of her life, is happy to offer directions, advice, and information about any special events being held in the area. |
