Discover the graceful 19th century lifestyle of Colonel William F. Wheeler, a prominent Orange County farmer, whose home was built in anticipation of his son, Isaac's, wedding to Phoebe Bull in 1850. The Wheeler home was rated "the most complete farmhouse in the County," by the Orange County Agricultural Society, shortly thereafter.

Located in what originally was the main kitchen in 1850, this room still retains its huge working fireplace, with swinging crane and bake oven. Antiques include an ornate queen sized bed under a half canopy. There is also a private entrance at the ground level rear porch.

This charming room, with a fabulous view, is located off a small hallway that has access to the second set of stairs as well as the grand main staircase. It has a high queen antique golden oak bed and furnishings. With its floral décor and touch of wicker, this room is very cozy, as well as secluded. As with all of our rooms there is also a private bath.
