We enjoyed a wonderful 10 days at Quiet Splendor. The home has been uniquely decorated throughout by the owners. The property was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. The hot tub was a definite plus after a day of hiking, followed by sitting around a fire at the fire pit enjoying roasting marshmallows, smores, and planning our adventures for the next day. For years we have annually been vacationing with our friends from Pennsylvania each October. We found everything at Quiet Splendor as promoted and meeting our expectations. There are numerous opportunities to enjoy hiking, and fishing in the area, including Grayson Highlands State Park (a really, really good find). On the rainy days during our stay we were able to enjoy visiting unique shops and restaurants in West Jefferson, which is another really good find. We would recommend Quiet Splendor to anyone that enjoys a break away from their routine and an opportunity to enjoy nature.

A great place for a family get-away, especially with pets! Happy to have a 4WD vehicle, due to local terrain and driveway. Tons of amenities at house; had nice nights of cooking in, as well as ordering to-go locally. Hot tub was the icing on the cake!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quiet Splendor! The house was comfortable and clean with plenty of rooms for 6 adults (2 couples) and no one had to sleep in a bunkbed! The layout is comfortable and 3 levels allows for folks to spread out to read, watch TV or visit without being on top of one another. The large deck was our "go to" spot and it was very relaxing to sit and enjoy of the quiet of this secluded location. The drive up the hill may be dicey for a small, lightweight vehicle during heavy rain or snow, but AWD or 4WD should have no issues. It's an easy drive to the store and downtown West Jefferson.

Property was beautiful. Secluded on 30+ acres yet very close and convenient to restaurants, groceries, parks, shopping, etc. House was well maintained and adequately supplied. Management company is the best, friendly, professional, and responsive. I recommend and will definitely consider another stay at Quiet Splendor when visiting the area again.

My best friends and I take a trip to the mountains every year and this property was for sure one of our favorites. First and foremost, the property is huge. 32 acres to wander, a gated driveway, and far enough from any roads to where you can’t even see headlights in the distance at night. The house itself was nice and simple and accommodated 5 adult men comfortably. We don’t watch a lot of TV, but the ones at this house work great. Verizon has excellent service in this location and the WiFi was strong! The house was clean and well stocked. The rental company also communicated well. This is a great property for dogs too with lots of room to run, frisbee, and explore. I would definitely rent this property again!

Our family enjoyed a great time with very little reason to ever leave the property. The upstairs loft is a cozy morning retreat with coffee while taking in the beautiful tree farm across the way. We enjoyed our visits walking around West Jefferson for pizza, burgers and ice cream. We came to this area specifically for it's proximity to Grayson Highlands State Park - we picked the perfect spot! Our family is looking forward to our next visit!

Quiet and secluded

We had a nice visit for the most part. Beautiful grounds, fresh air and great views. We were able to wander and explore the property without issue. The home is beautiful, but the cleaning crew left the last guests trash, popcorn and food under furniture upstairs and even clothing, a sock and a gross used qtip under the bed which shows they don’t clean very well. The floor was also quite dirty when we arrived - my kids socks were filthy on the bottom within 15 minutes of walking around the home. We sucked it up and enjoyed our stay anyhow. The laundry room was the best and we loved the downstairs area the most. There are security cameras on both the front and back of the house which made us feel very uncomfortable, as if our every move was being watched. This deters me from renting again as I expect privacy while vacationing. A security camera at the end of the drive would have sufficed, but this was overkill. Otherwise, very relaxing vacation.

We do disclose the security cameras on the rental agreement and in the description. They are not meant to be intrusive.
