Hillcrest B&B is located up valley near the base of Mt. St. Helena. Just a 5 minute drive from the home will take you to the hustle and bustle of Calistoga with its many restaurants, spas and nearby wineries. A winding 1/4 mile driveway leads up to the rambling country home surrounded by lush palms, shrubs, trees and many varieties of flowers.
The home is filled with cherished family heirlooms. Antique silver, china, oriental rugs, books and other furnishings decorate the home. There are many family photo albums, some dating back to the 1870's giving you a good look at the oldest wineries and elegant lifestyle of the Tubbs family and their friends. The Tubbs and the Reids were two of Napa Valley's earliest and most glamorous residents. The Reid name is an important part of San Francisco architecture (The Fairmont Call Building, Hotel Del Coronodo, etc.) and the Tubbs family established an empire supplying cordage to the Clipper ships of San Francisco Harbor and founded Calistoga's Chateau Montelena in 1880. The marriage of these families brought an exciting era to Calistoga that carried into the new century.

Single Friday and Sunday and week day booking are O.K. year round but if you want Saturday, Friday must fo with it. Single Saturday stays may be O.K. in the winter months. Call to check.
1 week cancellation policy non refundable for all nights booked without 7 day notice of canceling. No refunds for early check outs.
A credit card # will hold your room but a check or cash for payment is preferred for payment on arrival or when you check out.
Please call the morning of arrival to reconfirm.
Complementary wine is available in the guest parlor. Help yourself anytime.
Dogs welcome. $10 per night per dog with bedding.
If I am available I can dog sit or walk your pet free of charge.
A large outdoor kennel and portable dog houses are also available for your pets use. Your pet can also stay in your room.
My dogs Taz, Debo and Bamboo are very friendly.

An old Steinway grand piano sits waiting to be played. For meetings or parties there is a 12 foot antique table which seats up to 18. A small lake stocked with bass and catfish is located on the property for fishing. You may hike on 36 hilly acres, take a refreshing dip in the pool, or just relax in the sun, sipping wine while enjoying tropic-like surroundings and a million dollar view.
Breakfast is served at the dining table overlooking the valley. The table is set fit for a king and queen. A large continental breakfast consisting of baked goods, fresh seasonal fruit, juice and coffee is served upon 90-year-old china and silver, giving the illusion that you are back in time.
All rooms include a fireplace and use of the pool, lake, garden areas, trampoline, kitchen and barbeque. (You supply paper plates, cups and keep kitchen area clean.) |
