Property Information
A lovely, newly built cabin called Bear Trap Cabin is a union of rich and color and high comfort - a traditional, three bedroom, log frame house with a peaked roof. Bear Trap cabin is set in a village-like group of houses at the Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club, and the views spread out from the quiet streets in all directions - towering mountains, silent forest, a golf course of emerald velveteen and the vast Wyoming sky.
The house, like the land around it, is spacious and airy. The rooms open to each other - the first floor rises seamlessly into the second. The kitchen and living room, on the lower level, are divided by a granite-topped breakfast bar and warmed by a high, stacked-stone fireplace. Two intimate and luxurious bedrooms are also on this level, each with their own private bath and understated western decor. The master bath has a deep, stone-tiled soaking tub and a separate shower. Outside the living room's French doors is the wonderful wide deck, made for outdoor dining or entertaining in the sheltering arms of the woods and mountains, the house gilded by the late afternoon sun.
An open staircase leads to the second floor, a private, sumptuous loft tucked up under the eaves. This level functions as a second master suite and office, with a stone-tiled bathroom. There is a king-size bed and a plush sofa; the office has a roomy couch, a flat-screen television, an antique oak desk, and is open to the living room below.
Bear Trap Cabin's setting on the Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club make it the perfect launching pad for any Wyoming adventure. The magnificent golf, tennis and clubhouse amenities are accessible to the cabin's guests with a temporary club membership. The Robert Trent Jones II golf course has recently been renovated, and spreads out below the Sleeping Indian Range and the Tetons, along banks of the Gros Ventre River. Cottonwoods fringe the edges of the club; moose are frequent visitors here. Swimming, tennis and the Club's own fine restaurant add to the high standard of living here.
Just beyond the small Club village - ten minutes by car, twenty by bike - is the breathtaking Grand Teton National Park. Here, anything is possible, any time of the year; snowmobiling, dog sledding, fishing and hiking. Fabulous cross country skiing starts right outside the cabin's door. The smooth, sparkling snow of the golf course seems to stretch to the very foot of the Tetons; the trail is yours to break. In the envening, a private chef can prepare an intimate winter supper in the cabin's kitchen; while outside, coyotes sing and the stars wheel their grand circuits through the sky.
