Casa Castillo is a great home where you can enjoy the tranquility of the Laguna de Apoyo yet be just a short distance from great restaurants and shopping. Located only 20 minutes from Granada, on the rim of the most pristine lake in Nicaragua, Casa Castillo is a great place to get away.
Once you enter the gates, the view will awe you. The spacious patio and clear blue infinity pool will lure you to spend many hours just relaxing and enjoying this beautiful space. The large living area offers comfortable seating so that you can stretch out and enjoy a good book or a well deserved nap. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a great meal or light snack. If cooking is not on your agenda, there are many local restaurants in the area where you can get a great meal and a cold beer.
The downstairs bedroom opens onto a patio with comfortable seating and great views of the lake. There is a queen bed, ceiling fan and shared bath. Upstairs you will find another patio as well as two bedrooms, both with queen beds and shared bath. The rooms are large, airy and have magnificent views of the laguna.
Casa Castillo is the idea place for a family or group of friends. There are great day trips you can make to Granada, Masaya, Catarina and San Juan de Oriente, all within a 20 minute drive. We can help arrange a driver if you would like as well as a cook for those nights when you want to enjoy your home and a bit of typical food.

Laguna de Apoyo is a clean, blue, and thermally vented 48-square kilomenter body of water contained inside the crater of the Apoyo Volcano (think big warm clean lake!).Laguna de Apoyo is one of Nicargua’s most beautiful natural wonders and for anyone traveling through Nicaragua it should not be missed.
There are many Lagunas throughout the coutry, but none equal this one as it is still clean enough to swim in and very close to other major cities in Nicaragua. It is a great place to rest, relax, swim, kayak and recharge after some hard traveling, or to just spend a day lounging in the water and sun.
There is no real town along the waterfront of the Laguna, so if you need to run to the bank, buy some sunscreen, or make a phone call it is best to do it in town before you go. There are four small local restaurants that serve fish and generally typical Nicaraguan food and and cold beers. These local restaurants are located conveniently in front of the public beach (not much). The entrance to the Laguna is located between Granada and Masaya on the Caraterra Masaya, and it is easy to get to by bus or taxi - even from Managua. There is also a good selection of places to spend the night.
