The aptly named Grizzly Bear Cabin sits on private, forested grounds just 5 minutes from Northstar California Resort and 15 minutes from Kings Beach on Lake Tahoe.

Surrounded by towering pine trees, the 3-bedroom retreat offers total privacy with two expansive decks adding a feeling of indoor/outdoor living. Vaulted ceilings, wood-paneled walls and cottage decor create a cozy ambience inside. Stretch out on the full-length sofa to enjoy a movie on the SmartTV, curl up by the fireplace on one of two leather armchairs with a good book, or warm up by the fireplace from the hardwood rocking chair.

Steps away, in an open-concept layout, a formal dining table comfortably seats up to 6 guests. Two stools at the breakfast bar add a kids’ table or cozy spot for morning coffee. Brew drip or Keurig coffee, or if you’re feeling ambitious, make homemade cocoa on the gas stove.
