On a point surrounded by the green and turquoise waters for which Bermuda is justly famous, our comfortable fully renovated townhouse awaits you. Attractively decorated and with all the expected conveniences of home, the house is located in a quiet neighborhood famous for its unique character, its stunning Clearwater Beach and delightful little cafes and restaurants. The townhouse is close to the St. David’s Cricket Club. The closest beach is a very intimate and private one called Cashew City. It is near the famous St. David’s Forts and the very picturesque light house. It is not recommended that anyone swim from the front of the townhouse complex as the dock has been turned into a private boating enterprise. Clearwater Beach is a few minutes moped ride away. There is Black Horse Tavern and White’s Supermarket, Pizza House and the Movie Theater. The house is undisturbed by noise located in a very secluded and quiet residential neighborhood.
There is a ferry service in the boat yard that takes you to Hamilton and Dockyard and a shuttle bus that takes you into St. David’s when the buses have stopped running. At the number one gate there is a great ice cream store - a cold treat on a hot day always helps to ease your wait.
The views over the water are wonderful in every season, and the snorkeling and swimming nearby will keep you absorbed and fascinated for hours. For those preferring a little leisurely relaxation in the sun, the calm waters and pristine sands of Clearwater Beach, a 20 minute walk (call the mini-bus for family sized transportation when you need it!), will provide entertainment on the play equipment for children and a perfect picnic opportunity for your family.
The house features television. Internet can be arranged with a temporary account with a local ISP provider (see website for details).
The master bedroom has a Queen bed, and en suite bathroom including shower. Two additional bedrooms have a set of twin beds in each room plus 2 additional bathrooms. Cots for 2 small children can be arranged.
Arrangements for grocery purchases and delivery for the day you arrive can be made at Somers Market in St. Georges or Harrington Hundreds Grocery Store when you pay for by credit card. Liquor and flowers can also be pre-arranged.
The former capital of Bermuda, the Town of St. Georges is just a 10 minute moped ride away, but will take you back nearly 400 years to 1612. The town is the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the English New World. The extraordinary atmosphere of the town is captured not in its gentrification but in the fact the folks live in these ancient buildings and that the ongoing matter of everyday business has somehow been managed within the confines of a pretty town with winding roads and oddly shaped buildings perched curbside. Its history embraces many roles: a thriving frontier town, military and naval outpost and colonial capital to name but a few. Crammed now with pretty shops and attractive cafes, it is centered on a beautiful waterfront square, with museums and galleries just steps away, including a replica of the Deliverance. This tiny ship bore the early settlers on to Jamestown, Virginia after a year of collecting food and ship building to escape the island they were shipwrecked upon. There is a fine golf course behind the town, gardens and churches to explore and dazzling beaches in the area.
RATES INCLUDE $200.00 per week of electricity and water, plus local telephone calls. Excess power or water consumption will be billed to the tenant.
It is important to CONSERVE UTILITIES. They are over 330 % more expensive in Bermuda than in the USA or Canada SO Please turn off air conditioning when you go out, and lock up as you do at home. AC will restore comfort in short order upon your return. Please note: this property works well in conjunction with E20- a 10 minute walk away and big enough for another 3 adults.
