Toledo Bend Reservoir is the largest man made lake in the south and 5th largest in the nation. It is located along the Northern border of Louisiana and Texas. The lake spans 186,000 acres with 1,200 miles of shoreline. Many bass tournaments are held on the lake with the record catches holding at 14 pound for bass and just under 5 pounds for crappie. Stripers can run up to 40 pounds in size here at the lake. Toledo Bend is a great place to spend winter with its moderate climate. MINIMUM temperatures in January average 40 degrees and the maximum temperature in July average 94.
