The Saddle Horn Retreat (Grand Opening -- Memorial Day holiday 2008) is an extraordinary Telluride Vacation Rental -- an unique view property on its own wooded acreage. Trees, views, privacy, and superb close-in access to everything worth doing in Telluride and the Mountain Village.
Saddle Horn Retreat is one of several very well located view properties here in Telluride that comprise our Luxe for Less (TM) Vacation Homes group. A waterfall greets you in the courtyard upon your arrival, near the pavillion where you can relax and read a book, and let the world go by.
This brand new luxury home features four bedrooms, two of which are master suites with baths en suite. High-def flatscreens, marble, granite, steam shower, and the most incredible state of the art hot tub on one of the double-decker view decks, with special lights, fountains, and built-in CD changer, with pop-up speakers, and, of course, a floating remote control! (In case you were wondering.)
Huge Great Room with vaulted ceilings, and fireplaces there, and in the master bath (but of course). The gourmet kitchen is open to the Great Room for entertaining, and features SubZero fridge, granite countertops, and all the bells and whistles.
The entire grounds are in the forest, on your own wooded acres, a beautiful corner lot with no close neighbors.
The mountains tower over the entire property, and from inside or out, you'll enjoy spectacular views of our "fourteener," Wilson Peak, and Sunshine Mountain, and the San Sophias towering over the historic Town of Telluride, in the box canyon below.
This superb close-in location is only 5 mins from the slopes via Telluride's free gondola system, at the new Town Hall Plaza in the adjacent Mtn Village. Living Room
The Great Room at the Saddle Horn Retreat features 30 ft vaulted ceilings, cozy fireplace, beautiful new lodge-style furniture and furnishings, and an open kitchen for entertaining.
Above the fireplace, a large HD flatscreen TV, satellite feed, etc.
Enjoy CDs, DVDs, stereo surround sound, and best of all -- breathtaking views out every window and door. French doors out to a huge view deck in the woods, or down the outdoor stairs connecting the upper deck with the lower deck, where the oversized jetted hot tub is waiting for you.
Sound too good to be true? You won't believe your eyes. Trees, views, quiet, privacy, and state of the art amenities to pamper you in every way. Go ahead -- you deserve it.
Kitchen
Spacious gourmet kitchen open to the Great Room features a SubZero fridge and high-end Kitchen-Aid appliances. Fully equipped and furnished, right up to and including preparing a Thanksgiving Dinner for you and your friends and family.
Granite countertops and breakfast bar, dishwasher, wine cooler, convection/microwave, gas oven and range --everything you need to prepare beautiful meals at the house for friends and family.
While you're cooking, enjoy the fireplace, enjoy the views, enjoy the trees, the music, the high def TV -- and we provide everything you'll need to get you started, with spices, condiments, hot and cold cereals, Swiss chocolates, Starbucks coffee, all included with your stay.
Dining Room
You can seat up to eight adults at the beautiful new dining table in the Great Room, just off the gourmet kitchen.
The fireplace and simply spectacular mountain views in every direction make it a perfect place to linger over a meal, and enjoy the mountains with your friends and family.
Master Bedroom
The master suite comprises its own level above the Great Room, and offer a private luxury retreat with breathtaking mountain views. We feature a beautiful new king-sized bed, and a large HD flatscreen is concealed in beautiful built-ins, positioned perfectly for viewing from bed when you like.
Separate built-in music system, and a spectacular marble master bath with steam shower with beautiful views of the trees and the mountains, Euro-glass, soaking tub, and its own fireplace! This mountain aerie is the perfect place to relax and forget about daily cares.
Beautiful quilts and comforters, custom furniture and furnishings -- nothing overlooked for your pleasure and your comfort throughout your stay. And of course -- monogrammed Spa Robes and spa-quality toiletries. (Have we ever denied you anything?)
Second Master Suite, and Two Add'l. Guest Rooms/Cabana Room
Saddle Horn Retreat features a second master on the lower level, with bath en suite, and with doors leading out to the double decker decks, and the oversized jetted hot tub on this level on the outdoor deck, all surrounded by the woods, the views, the quiet, the privacy, and the magic of the mountains.
The upper floor master features a king sized bed; the second master, on this level, features a queen-sized bed, with down comforters and pillows, and Spa robes and spa quality toiletries.
Two additional guest bedrooms feature queen beds, and we have special Aero sleepaway beds for young children if you like. One of these add'l. guest bedrooms has a hideaway bed, allowing a simple conversion to a cabana room, if you like, which leads out to the oversized hot tub on the adjacent deck in the woods, overlooking the private grounds, and the firepit below.
Outdoor Living Areas
The double decker decks offer over 1000 sqft of outdoor living areas, all surrounded by mountain views and in our beautiful forest, with upscale outdoor furniture -- a perfect place to curl up in a quilt with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy the incredible mountain scenery.
A beautiful firepit below, or from either of the double decker decks (connected by an outdoor staircase) are great ways to watch unforgettable sunsets, and just as memorable -- simply spectacular night skies -- unlike anything in the Mountain Village, on in the Town of Telluride in the box canyon below.
Acres of wooded grounds and pathways -- all very private, and without near neighbors, to unwind and enjoy our unspoiled alpine wilderness environment.

Parking
The private courtyard features a circular drive and a shaded pavillion, and a beautiful waterfall to welcome you each time you enter onto the property at Saddle Horn Retreat.
There's parking for several cars, and room for one of them in a garage off the courtyard if you like.

By dealing direct with owners, you receive very high "value for dollar" with this extraordinary new view home. If you shop and compare, you'll find that our rates are about half, compared with comparable luxury homes managed by property management companies, managing properties for absentee owners, which comprises much of our market here in Telluride.
The following rates are based on single, double, triple, or quad occupancy (i.e., pays for up to the first four guests). Additional adults are $200 per stay (not per night); additional children under 18 are half price, at $100 per stay (again, not per night).
It's always best to check with us for rates and availability; we often have specials, or special rate packages we can offer.
The following rates are based on a five night minimum stay. There is no charge for cleaning following your departure with your stay of five nights or more. (Most guests stay 7 nites.)

Payment Terms
We accept most major credit cards. A deposit of 50% of your rate package is accepted at time of booking. For most weeks, the balance isn't due till you're here with us in Telluride, again by credit card, or in cash. No checks of any kind are accepted for lodging. For certain key weeks, such as Bluegrass, or Christmas, we may require the balance due 30-45 days prior to your arrival.
We thank you for your payment, and look forward to being your hosts here in Telluride.
Cancellation Policy
Except for certain key holiday and festival weeks, which we advise you at time of booking are non-refundable, if you cancel more than 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival, we'll provide you with a full credit for any amounts received, less only a $100 rescheduling fee, towards a future stay of five nights or more, with no blackout dates or expiration, as long as we own the property.
If you must cancel within 30 days of your scheduled arrival, we'll make every effort to rebook your dates. If we can, you'll receive a full credit, less only the rescheduling fee, per above. If we can't rebook, no credit or refund is issued, as we typically turn away at least several other guest groups following confirmation in order to hold your dates, exclusively for you. Your understanding and cooperation is much appreciated, and allows us to keep our rates as low as we can, by Telluride standards.

Policies
The Saddle Horn Retreat is "kid-friendly"! You and your children are more than welcome at the Retreat.
No smoking. You may smoke outside the house, as you please, provided you carefully dispose of all smoking materials in proper containers we provide. Note: See our Damage Waiver policy below.
No pets. No exceptions, so please don't ask. We recommend you find a caring friend or family member to care for your pet(s) while you travel.
Horse Lovers: You may bring up to two horses, provided you let us know, in advance, so we can prepare properly for your stay.
Damage Waiver/Security Deposits: For most guest groups (depending on size) and most weeks of the year, we don't ask for a security deposit in advance, but rather, accept your credit card at checkin to guarantee against damages during your stay, other than normal wear and tear. (Rarely a problem.)
Smokers Please Note: We faithfully promise clean mountain air and a smoke-free and a pet-free environment for all our clients from throughout the U.S. and Europe, at our several unique view properties here in Telluride. Accordingly, we will charge smokers who ignore our non-smoking policy per above (by smoking inside the house) with a facilities restoration fee of $500, non-refundably, without exception, retained as liquidated damages, charged to the credit card you used at checkin, or charged to any card we have on file for you (e.g., from your initial lodging deposit), or retained from a cash deposit as applicable, per above.
Please don't test us on this important issue. If you and everyone with you can't commit to smoking only outside the house, our Saddle Horn Retreat is not for you! In that case, please contact us to assist you in booking elsewhere, such as at local hotels that have specially designated smoking rooms.
