La Vita represents a slice of Italian life that’s not easily replicated. This air
conditioned cottage attached to the owner’s villa is located less than two
miles from Siena. Guests can easily get to and from the city by taking a
bus that stops 30 yards away and runs every 15 minutes until the early
evening.
The cottage has its own private pool and furnished garden area
overlooking the Sienese hills. The panorama reveals the weather and
assists in plotting the day’s course. The friendly owners residing in the
main villa with their family and pets use an outdoor area at the opposite
end of the villa, away from the cottage, to allow you privacy. They look
forward to welcoming you with a tasting of local products served in their
home.
Inside the cottage, there’s an abundance of Tuscan charm, good quality
country style antiques, tasteful furnishings, wood beamed ceilings and
terracotta floors. The kitchen area, that at first seems to be missing, lies
hidden inside an armoire that includes a dishwasher. Oddly enough,
Italians call these “American kitchens.” Both bedrooms have screened
windows and one also has a kitchen area. Cottage la Vita is strictly for
non-smokers. Maid service may be requested at booking.
With the road nearby and the Firenze — Siena motorway 500 yards away,
cars can be heard when sitting outside. The way home passes by some
commercial businesses and a seminary that lies behind the property.
Nonetheless, Cottage la Vita beats life in the city hands down.
Monteriggioni is within a 15 minute drive; Castellina: 20; San Gimignano
or Florence: 40; Pienza or Montalcino: 60; Lucca, Cortona, Arezzo or
Orvieto: 90.

Shopping and dining: In less than 2 miles or a 10 minute drive is the
heart of Siena, with a wide variety of restaurants and shops. There is a
supermarket and tobacco shop within half a mile.
Public Transportation: Public bus number 7 stops just 30 yards away with
service to Siena. Piazza la Lizza in Siena has public bus service to Rome,
Florence and San Gimignano. Piazza del Sale in Siena has public bus
service to Siena's train station and other locations in Siena. Piazza Fratelli
Rosselli in Siena has train service to Perugia and Assisi
Golf: Golf Club Siena, open year round, is within a 20 minute drive in San
Rocco a Pilli.
Tennis courts: In Siena at the Circolo Tennis Siena or the Circolo Tennis
La Racchetta.
Open air markets: Morning markets are held in Siena on Wednesdays, in
Monteriggioni on Thursdays, and in Colle Val d'Elsa on Fridays.
