With commanding views over the Great Sound from the hillsides, we are pleased to offer a very large and comfortable 1 bedroom apartment. With an air conditioned bedroom, the apartment offers a kitchen with full sized appliances, and a laundry facility for guests staying more than 10 days.
The bed is king-sized and the washroom has a shower facility, toilet and sink.
With a pretty porch off the entrance where you can sit in the morning to have breakfast, or linger in the evening over coffee and liquors, the view over the lawns towards the sea is lovely. The beaches nearby include Somerset Long Bay and the beach at Daniels Head, and then all the fabled beaches of the South Shore starting with Church Bay, Horseshoe and Warwick Long Bay as one progresses through Southampton and Warwick and into Paget, heading towards Hamilton...For dinner or lunch you could consider the ten minute amble into Somerset Village…
The bus is available to take you into Hamilton or west to Naval Dockyard, but the swifter water route on the ferry is a delightful alternative. At the bottom of the road ( a 5 minute walk at most) you can pick up the ferry and sit back and enjoy the ride across the harbour and into Hamilton.
There is a hairdryer, beach towels and there are lawn chairs with a large umbrella. Beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented at Horseshoe beach, which is what everyone locally does.
A Somerset location is considered to be a very attractive option for visitors in the know. Although the locations in the closest proximity to the beaches of the South Shore tend to be in the most demand, the 22 mile length of the island and its width of less than a mile in most places means that access to those beaches is easy from Somerset by bus or by moped and that’s only after you have savoured the pretty beaches in the immediate area…. Somerset has the distinct advantage of being close to ferry stops, and a pretty village where shops and cafes makes lingering for a while a very pleasant diversion. The remarkable renovated installation at the Naval Dockyard property (a British Navy base built in the early 1820’s) has created a plaza and shopping concourse as well as a series of excellent museums, pubs, artists workshops, book stores and the like as well as the hugely popular DOLPHIN QUEST operation. These shops and museums operations are all neatly contained in spectacularly restored historic buildings dotted about a many acre park setting on the furthest end of the island. Fast ferries and buses depart and arrive from the Dockyard facility all day long. The views from The Commissioner’s House are jaw dropping as you can see from one end of the island all the way to the other, with ocean liners sedately negotiating the Two Rock Passage which is the only safe access to Hamilton Harbour.
This property is available for rent by the month for January February and March, with a discount provided if the apartment is taken for the full time.

WE HAD AN ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS TIME AND WE FELL IN LOVE WITH IT ALL OVER AGAIN.. THE WEATHER WAS EXCELLENT FROM START TO FINISH, WE LOVED OUR ACCOMODATION AT ….. WITH THE …… IN SOMERSET, THEY ARE A WONDERFULL COUPLE WHO MADE US SO WELCOME AND THE HOUSE AND OUR LITTLE APARTMENT WAS AMAZING WE LOVED IT AND WOULD STAY WITH THEM ANYTIME, I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE CLEANLINESS ..THE LOCATION WAS GREAT WE WERE ABLE TO WALK TO OUR DAUGHTERS AND WE LOVED THE WALKS THOUGH FAIRLY HILLY IF YOU ARE A SENIOR BUT PLENTY TAXIS ETC AROUND. WE WALKED FOR MILES AND LOVED THE AREA OF SOMERSET VILLAGE . WE GOT OUR FERRY PASS AND BUS PASS COMBO AND USED IT ALL THE TIME… ATE AT THE SALT ROCK GRILL AND MANY THANKS TO THE SCOTTISH WAITER ALISTAIR WHO MADE OUR NIGHT FUN, THE BAND WAS TERRIFIC AND THE FOOD TO DIE FOR.. THE PEAR MARTINIS ARE SPECIAL… WE ALSO ENJOYED THE COUNTRY SQUIRE WE HAD A FEW MEALS THERE.. WENT TO THE SOUTH SHORE BEACHES , DOCKYARDS, WHERE WE GOT A CATAMARAN TRIP FOR my husband’s birthday ARRANGED BY OUR GIRLS ON THE “ARISTOCRAT” - WHAT A WONDERFULL DAY.. SNORKELL PARK WAS FUN., HAMILTON GREAT FOR SHOPPING AND ST GEORGES WE LOVED WALKING through IT AGAIN . WE HAD LUNCH AT WHITEHORSE… I COULD GO ON AND ON. WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME. THE PEOPLE WERE WONDERFUL. WE ARE HOPING TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR . WE WILL CONTACT YOU FOR ACCOMODATION. HAPPY HOUR AT THE HAMILTON PRINCESS WAS GREAT MUSIC, BARBEQUE AND DRINKS IN A GORGEOUS SETTING..
