The house is the perfectly maintained home of a charming Bermuda lady who loves to welcome visitors to the island. She has two bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and the other with two single beds and a guest bathroom for your use.There is no kitchen facility that can be made available to guests although keeping some beer cooled or making a cup of tea will undoubtedly be acceptable. You are welcome to relax in the livingroom. Mopeds can be parked at the house and you will find you are not more than 8 minutes away from the silvery sands of John Smiths Bay- a lovely beach for swimming. Hamilton is about a 12 minute ride in the opposite direction and if you are not happy about renting mopeds, the bus service is reliable and convenient. There is a wonderful old house nearby called Verdmont Museum that has excellent examples of Bermudian furniture, painting, toys and is a handsome example of the prevailing architecture from the 1700's.
Harrington Sound is about 5 minutes overland- another pretty sightseeing location. It is an inland body of salt water that is as calm as a lake, fed with fresh ocean waters through a tidal inlet at Flatts Village. The water surging into the sound and then back out again later as the tides change is quite something to watch and the bridge across the access point next to the Aquarium is great place to view it all. Flatts Village and Bermuda Aquarium and the cafes and shops in the village are fun to explore on your way to St.Georges.The B&B is close to 3 water sports facilities (water skiing, kayaking and hard helmet diving) and is 10 minutes away from Devil's Hole, the magnificent John Smith's Bay ( a beach with deep soft sand and low surf), grocery stores, post office, churches, and restaurants. Being so close to Hamilton makes even taxi journeys affordable from this location. The house is approximately 10 minutes from the airport (about a $15.00 taxi fare). The Crystal Caves, the Perfume Factory, the Pottery Factory, the famous Swizzle Inn , Castle Harbour Golf Course and Ocean View Golf Course, Devonshire Marsh , Mangrove Lake, Walsingham and Spittal Pond Nature Reserves are all close to this very attractive location.Its an excellent place to enjoy inexpensive lodging enhanced with extraordinary hosptitality.
