We couldn't wait to get back to the office and post this destination property after we first discovered it. Private, on the ocean, great views, great dock for swimming and boating, large flat yard - comfortable "old home lodge" feel. This property offers almost everything that one wants in a Maine vacation property.
Located in southern Cushing on Davis Cove, this property is on the ocean with views of an island, osprey nest and the open ocean. Because of the protection of Davis Point, the water is warmer than the normal ocean temperature and great for swimming.
Truly a property that you can spend your entire vacation at, this is a perfect home base for boating and kayaking. From the large deck and fire pit to the flat yard large enough for a small wedding, there is relaxation and entertainment opportunities for all ages.
Inside, the lodge is very clean, open, and spacious. The master bedroom has its own private bathroom. The guest room shares a bath with the kids twin room - featuring 4 twin beds.
The kitchen and furnishings of the home give it the feel of a Maine hunting lodge. Although antiques, the furnishing are very clean.
Of special interest are the two large living rooms. Both rooms overlook the ocean. One has a DirecTV receiver and television with DVD player. The other room is for games and socializing. In other words a living room for kids and a living room for adults.
A mooring able to support up to a 40' sailboat is included with your rental. Do not rent this property without renting one of our boats or bringing your own. Short trips to nearby fishing villages are possible including Port Clyde, Monhegan Island, Friendship or New Harbor.
