Welcome to the Gold Mountain Manor, a 1928 Historic Log Cabin Mansion Bed and Breakfast
Set on an acre of ponderosa pines in the valley of beautiful Big Bear Lake, California, each room at the bed and breakfast offers an opportunity for relaxation and romance. Whether you're escaping from the kids or just the rat race, give in to the urge for a getaway!
Check into the bed and breakfast and leave your cares behind. We'll pamper you with cozy robes and house made aromatherapy milk bath. Scents of fresh brewed coffee and sizzling bacon lull you from your slumber, sit down to a full gourmet breakfast by candle light with yummy chocolate cappucino muffins to make your morning feast complete. Homemade treats greet you after an afternoon of your favorite activity, even if its just lounging in the jacuzzi in your suite or in the hammock under the Ponderosa pines. Afternoon hors d'oeuvres and beverages complete your day. Don't want to leave for dinner - we'll help you order in! Let us pamper you by arranging for an in-room massage.
Each of our seven guest rooms is individually decorated with antiques and vintage touches or handcrafted log furniture. All have private bath, queen size bed with luxurious linens and down comforters, and fireplaces, six out of the seven are woodburning. Cozy robes, towel warmers and homemade milk bath add to your comfort. All room prices include a full, gourmet breakfast - made from SCRATCH, afternoon hors d'oeuvres and wine, and fresh baked treats. A complimentary guest kitchen features hot beverages, seasonal chocolates and microwave popcorn. If you need to stay in touch with the outside world the entire Inn is wireless with high speed internet.

Presidential Suite
Go ahead, indulge yourself. The presidential suite is dedicated to those who like the best of everything and want to enjoy the rustic atmosphere of Big Bear but know the ultimate in creature comforts. A spectacular river rock fireplace is the focus of the suite, embedded with 20 million year old fossils and jewels and artifacts from Big Bear's mining days. Soak in the two person jacuzzi and feel the pull between staring into the fire's dancing flames or your loved one's eyes. Then retire to the separate sleeping room with it's massive four poster pine bed where you view the fire that still burns in the fireplace. Private bath, queen size bed, ceiling fan.

The Ted Ducey Suite
He came to Big Bear in 1916 for his honeymoon and never left. One of the mountain's most famous outdoorsmen, Ducey's tales of his pet bald eagle and tame wildcat have been printed and broadcast throughout the country. Secluded and spacious, the 600 SF three room Suite features wrap around windows, a large two person Jacuzzi surrounded by mission tiles & large timbers from which you can view the flames of the wood burning stove, aged knotty pine, rich earth colors,luxurious Eastern Accents linens and drapes , willow furniture, Indian collectibles, antiques, an amazing log queen bed handcarfted by an artist, private verandah & entrance. Private Bath.This is the perfect Suite for the discriminating, romantic couple who treasures their privacy in the rustic elegance of the Ted Ducey Suite. Flat screen DVD player in room, along with original artwork by Barbara Jordan.

The Cozy Pine Suite
Our newest suite, The Cozy Pine Suite welcomes you into the rustic mountains with all the softness of a pine scented forest. A massive lodgepole pine canopy bed dressed in April Cornell linens and down comforter, invites you to snooze in the afternoon, after you take a jacuzzi in the tub for two, that is. English antiques mingle with twig trimming and the vintage indian lamp and prints brings you back to the Big Bear of yesteryear. Go ahead, cozy up for a few days and leave the world outside your door. Queen size bed, ceiling fan, private bath, jacuzzi tub with shower, gas stove & cable television.

Bessie's Room
Bessie and Alexander Barrett built Gold Mountain Manor. This room is dedicated to Bessie. Recently redecorated, this deluxe room offers antique white wicker furniture, Pretty duvet and oil paintings, Ceiling fan and beautiful stained glass fireplace. The high queen brass bed with step stools adds to the charm of Bessie's Room. This bright, spacious room which floods with sunlight every morning is a favorite of many guests. Private Bath with shower.

Clark Gable Room
In the 30's, Clark Gable brought Carole Lombard, his beautiful new wife, to Big Bear for their honeymoon. Legend holds that the amorous couple stocked their room full of firewood, lit a fire in the old Franklin Stove, then never left their room. If only that stove could talk, what tales it could tell! Because in this spacious blue and mauve room, we have the very fireplace that witnessed great love, and while you and your sweetheart relax in our queen size antique French walnut bed with hand carved roses, and gaze at the stenciled ceilings, that stove might learn some new love stories. Private bath with an old fashioned claw foot tub/ shower combination is only a step away and comes with thick terrycloth robes to dash across the hall in.

Bouquet Room
Quaint and charming, this recently redecorated gabled, floral patterned room with blonde pine floors was Bessie's favorite. In the Bouquet Room, her love for flowers and birds is celebrated with Yves DeLorme floral linens from Paris and hand embroidered accent pillows, as well as artwork and whimsical details like a vintage bird house. The brick fireplace continues the theme with hand-painted ceramic tiles of garden vegetables, and the queen size antique bed is made of turn of the century twisted cane oak. Private bath features a claw foot tub.

The Lucky Baldwin Room
In this rustic log cabin room, you'll feel like Lucky Baldwin himself. There is turn of the century log siding and a weathered pine floor. An antique handhewn bed is covered with plaid flannel and a rock hearth made from stones gathered in Gold Mountain proudly displays an antique franklin stove flanked by artifacts from the Lucky Baldwin Mine. Queen bed and ceiling fan. Private Bath.

Its a special day here at the Gold Mountain Manor and we are here to help you pop the question ... or wish someone special happy birthday or happy anniversary. Oh, Cathy and the staff helped - by setting up the champagne by the fire.
"May I pour you a glass of champagne?"
We offer full concierge services including arranging for champagne of course, but also flowers and in-room massage, as well as restaurant and activity arrangements. We can even help build a special celebration basket including all the goodies to help make your special occasion great - even a birthday cake!
"I don't know when I've felt this pampered. And now you want to pour me a bath?"
Relax in your tub - 6 out of the 7 rooms have them. A couple scoops of Cathy's home made milk bath and you're set to bliss out. We can even help you set the scene with candles -
"Oh my gosh - a super fluffy soft terrycloth robe. And are those the two dogs embroidered on it? How cute!"
All of our rooms feature cozy robes for after your bath or in the morning when you are getting ready to start your day. If you fall in love with your robe, you can purchase one to take home to remember your stay. Plus heated towel racks so the towel you put next to your skin is warm and fluffy. All the rooms have a fireplace (6 out of the 7 are wood burning) so you can lounge by firelight. And it stays cold (at night) up in Big Bear through the month of June, so a fire in the fireplace is always an option. Cathy will even start a fire for you!

Plan your summer getaway now! The sun shines everyday under vibrant blue skies - the lake is full and the trout are plentiful - the trails are open and the Scenic Sky Chair is running. Activities include hiking (let us show you a great, secluded picnic spot), mountain biking (The Scenic Sky Chair will transport you and your bike to the top of Snow Summit where you can traverse the mountain trails), fishing (Big Bear Lake sponsors the fishing for 50K contest each June), horseback riding, antiquing, canoeing and kayaking, bird watching, star gazing, four wheeling or even just taking all the clean air and blue skies from a rocking chair perch on our wraparound veranda.
Plan your romantic ski vacation now. Winter activites at the lodge include skiing, snowboarding and snow shoeing. Learn to snowboard this winter - we offer ski packages. Snow shoe or cross country ski for the ultimate in secluded winter fun. Be sure to ask us for a winter picnic basket. Horseback riding through the fresh powder in the forested mountains brings out the cowboy or cowgirl in all of us.
