Southampton two-level, one bedroom apartment with full kitchen, dining and living areas, and spectacular water views from the bedroom balcony.
This fantastic two-level apartment in Southampton has plenty of space for two guests, with a full dining room, well-equipped kitchen, and a living area that has cable TV. The full kitchen has major appliances, as well as a kettle, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, dishes, and cutlery. The unit has one and a half baths, a master bath en suite off of the bedroom, and two closets for storage.
This property has a spectacular view in every direction because its on top of a very large hill. So be prepared to rent scooters or to further define your buns of steel as you walk up and down it!
With a Queen-size pull-out sofa in the living room, the unit comfortably suits a maximum of 3 adults. While the apartment is spacious, it cannot accommodate ambulatory toddlers or children, as there is a cliff-side off of the property.
On the upper level is the master bedroom with King size bed, a sleigh seat at the foot of the bed, with two night tables and lamps, and a TV with cable and movie channels.
Two windows in the bedroom allow the Bermuda sunlight to flood the space. A double sliding glass door from the master leads to the balcony, which has spectacular water views. The master bathroom has a full bath, and shower, along with a hair dryer for your convenience.
There is an air conditioning unit on each level of the apartment. Phone and wireless internet available.
The private garden at this property has a table and chairs, and a gas BBQ (coals provided) available upon request for you to prepare fabulous meals after a day full of sightseeing.
Laundry facilities are available for clients staying at the apartment at least 7 nights. Both bath linens and beach towels are provided at C45.
The apartment is ideally located: 15 minutes walk to South Shore beaches (Church Bay- great for snorkelling – and Horseshoe Bay are closest), restaurants, the Fairmont Southampton, and a cycle livery.
Nearby are several fine restaurants: The Lighthouse Restaurant (only open at night) is a 7 minute walk away or a 3 minute moped drive; Henry VIII (open daily for lunch and dinner with sushi bar, and a bar that has nightly music) is a 10 minute walk from the property; and others such as the Waterlot Inn and the Swizzle Inn. A 10 minute walk from the property is also Henry’s Pantry, where you can purchase calling cards, newspapers, spirits, beer, and a few packaged items as well.
Down the coastline heading west, is the entrancing Church Bay. With wonderful rock formations offshore for spectacular snorkeling and powder soft sands for children to play in, this beach needs only a picnic and a good book to make it perfect. Horseshoe Bay is also nearby (just a 10-12 minute walk away!) and your closest golf course would be near the Fairmont Southampton Hotel. Nearby bus routes are both on Middle Road, and South Shore Road.
Port Royal Golf Course, the Southampton Princess Course , Riddell’s Bay Golf Course and the Belmont Golf Course are all nearby along with the lovely BLU restaurant. The charming hamlet of Somerset Town is a 10 minute drive away with shops and cafes, and just beyond the town is the 200 year old Naval Dockyard, now converted into a museum and shopping concourse with pubs, crafts market, a para-sail operation, charter boats, beach facilities, etc. Ferry service back into Hamilton from Dockyard is regularly scheduled in addition to the bus service. There are very elegant hotels and fine dining available at this end of the island as well – one does not have to go into Hamilton to enjoy a good meal or cabaret.
The town of Hamilton is about 20-25 minutes away by bus, less by moped. One does have the attractive option of going over to the Belmont Wharf on Harbour Road for a jaunt across the harbour by ferry as well. Reserve a day for the extensive Maritime Museum out at Dockyard on Ireland Island. There you will find meticulously restored historical buildings, craft shops and art galleries, pubs, cafes, shops and fascinating displays of items from Bermuda’s extraordinarily colorful past.
