The bedroom has a queen size bed, a large closet, with linens, towels, and a hair dryer provided. There is also a pullout sofa in the living room to accommodate your third and fouth guests. The bathroom has a shower, tub, toilet, and sink, as well as its own laundry facility. The kitchen facility is fully equipped with full sized fridge and cooking range, microwave, tea and coffee making amenities. Also, includes utensils, cutlery, dishes and cookware. A coal barbeque is available upon request.
Conveniences of wireless internet and cable TV are included in the nightly rate. The apartment is part of a larger duplex so the owners are discreetly on site to render assistance when required, and to provide helpful advice on the best things to see and do. There is swimming access right from the waterfront property. Please note that the entrance to the water is not well-suited for guests with mobility issues. Water shoes at this location are a must. Two single seater kayaks are available for your use, as well as snorkel gear, which are great to use on the Sound and make the most of your on-property water access. This location has a host of nearby attractions to consider. The bus stop is less than 50 yards away from the main property. Bus tokens or bus-ferry passes can be purchased from the post office.
Beaches: John Smith’s Bay with its with deep soft pink sand and gentle surf is excellent for swimming and snorkeling. Shelley Bay – a calm and tranquil North Shore Beach – is great for small children as the water level is always shallow. Both are 5 minutes or less by bike. Please bring your beach towels with you or old towels you are prepared to discard at the end of the holiday.
Flatt’s Village: A pleasant 15 minute walk to restaurants, aquarium, and post office. The Village provides a variety of foods, a pizzeria, take-out cafe, Italian, Indian and Chinese, and of course the 1926 Aquarium with its attached museum and mini-zoo. Nearest convenience store is Fresh N New on Devil’s Hole Hill (which is walking distance, hours from 7am – 7pm), and Harrington Hundreds Grocery – 5 minutes on bike. The Specialty Inn on South Road at Collectors Hill is a 5 minute moped ride for family style eating and sushi in unpretentious but comfortable surroundings. Café reference from a guest in December 2008: “Best meal on the Island to date at a new place called Indigo in the Flatt’s. Tell your customers!!” Harrington Sound is ringed with gorgeous homes overlooking the placid waters of the Sound. One can snorkel comfortably. In fact, just to the right of the steps at this waterfront house is a reef that is great for snorkeling! Turtle Island is yet another fantastic snorkeling area nearby. There are fine dining establishments nearby such as the renowned Tom Moore’s Tavern and the Swizzle Inn for drinks and snacks. For leisurely tours on your mopeds exploring the glorious country side of Tuckers Town with its spectacular homes is always fun.
St.George’s Area: The old town of St. George is only 15 minutes away and well worth a couple of days exploration; many fine buildings from the 1600’s still stand and include handsome old homes, museums and churches. Make time to swim at Tobacco Bay and Clearwater Beach. The coves behind the old Nasa Station further along the Clearwater Beach area lie virtually undiscovered by most visitors to the island and are simply gorgeous.
City of Hamilton: Attractions include a dazzling array of shops catering to every taste; fine custom jewelry, couture clothing, antiques, fine china, perfumes, wines and spirits, antiques and several excellent art galleries. The Public Library and the Old Perot’s Post Office provide a fascinating glimpse into the rich history of Bermuda. City Hall also has excellent ongoing cultural and historical exhibits. To see more of Bermuda’s history, tours are featured at the Visitor Service Bureau on Front Street, or you can catch the ferry straight out to Dockyard to start your quest.
Transportation Service: Prearranged door to door service with your own private driver to collect you at the airport and dine around service in the evenings transporting you to local restaurants for your convenience. For the social scene you can enjoy Happy Hour Fridays at Hamilton Princess or night life at Cafe Cairo in the City of Hamilton. Another great place for great sandwiches and enjoy their specialty tea & coffee is Common Ground Café in Chancery Lane. Local tours can be arranged. Once you book do not forget to arrange this service with the owners of the accommodation.
