The boat is permanently moored in Dockyard to protect from high winds and providing calm water, with a security gate at the entrance of the docks.

There is a King size bed in the bedroom, as well as storage and a TV with cable. An additional two guests can sleep on the Double sized fold-out sofa in the living room, which is surrounded by windows that enjoy fantastic water views. The living room has a TV with cable, DVD player, CD player/radio, movies, and XBox 360 with a few games.

In the kitchen is a medium sized fridge with freezer, stove and oven, microwave, toaster, pots and pans, kettle, coffee maker, and dining set. The bathroom on the house boat has a sink, toilet, shower, and bath linens.

For your comfort, the boat has central air conditioning and heating, ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. The house boat is also equipped with an iron, hair dryer, and four beach towels.

On the top patio of the boat, there are 2 lounge chairs, and a table and chair set for 4 where you can enjoy your home cooked meals.

Cash damage deposit due on arrival $250.00 , refunded upon departure, as security against damaging the septic pump by flushing anything but organic waste down the toilet. Sanitary and any other products must not be disposed of in the toilet. We expect guests to pay for anything they break.

Please keep in mind that the boat is permanently moored. If you are looking to go on a boat ride, you can check the dockyard for boat rentals.

Ferries can readily be caught at Dockyard into the city of Hamilton harbour, and over to St.Georges. There is also bus service from Dockyard, which heads through Somerset and to the central parts of the island.

Nearby to this accommodation in Dockyard are a wide variety of conveniences and entertainments: moped rentals, five restaurants, a mini-mart, a mall, a visitor centre, and a pharmacy: all within a 2 minute walk. The nearest large grocery store is about a 10 minute bus ride, or 5 minute moped ride from Dockyard. There are also the attractions of Dockyard nearby: glass blowing centre, rum cake factory, museum, Dolphin Quest, art gallery, craft market, and a tour ticket booth. During the Summer months, there is a street fair held in Dockyard each Monday night where there is live music, gombey dancing and street vendors.

Since the boat is in the marina at Dockyard, it is best to swim at the snorkel park in Dockyard, which is a 2 minute walk away. Heading further east from Somerset, Whale Bay and the stunning Church Bay offer wonderful South Shore snorkeling opportunities as well as pink, shell strewn beaches to explore. (Snorkeling equipment can be rented at Church Bay and several of the larger beaches such as Horseshoe.) A mile and a half along the coast is Horseshoe Bay, and the trio of simply exquisite coves known as Chaplin Bay, Stonehole Bay and Jobson’s Cove secreted between Horseshoe and Warwick Long Bay. All these lovely beaches are within 25 minutes moped ride of the house boat in Somerset.

One of the outstanding distinctions of this location is the access to the public transportation and the proximity to Naval Dockyard. The maritime installation was established by the British in the 1820’s to provide a re-provisioning base for the navy: the extraordinary buildings have been refurbished and converted into museums, shops and cafes on a promontory that has a commanding view of the entire island. A visit to Bermuda without see Dockyard would not be complete.

At Dockyard there is a wide selection of water sport activity companies, which offer jet ski tours, parasailing, glass bottom boat rentals, snorkelling, fish charters, and much more!

Fine dining nearby would have to include Cambridge Beaches in Somerset and the renowned dining-rooms at The Reefs in Southampton. The Princess Hotel in Southampton and the Waterlot Inn also provides a fine dining experiences along with an excellent golf course.
