Property Description

Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally-located home in the St. Roch area just a stone's throw away from the eclectic shops of the Marigny. •Short distance to French Quarter, Fairgrounds, Interstate, and Public Transit •Away from the noise, crowds, and other discomforts of the French Quarter and surrounding areas •In response to Covid19, we’ve updated our cleaning processes. See below in “Other things to note”! •Digital Guidebook W/ Food/Fun Recommendations, Early Check-in/Late Checkout options, Infant/Toddler Rentals, Eco/Allergy Friendly Laundry & More! *Important: Our properties are protected by SUPERHOG - a globally recognized trust and safety company that allows hosts and guests to confidently transact. -Please note that once you have booked, you will be contacted directly by SUPERHOG to complete your booking validation, which includes ID verification and the deposit collection. -You will be given the choice between paying a $500 refundable deposit (+ admin fee) or a $35 non-refundable damage waiver, with both covering you for any accidental damage caused during your stayNormal check-in time is 4pm on the arrival date. For check-in's from 12:30pm - 4:00pm, it's an extra $50 to have an extra cleaner assist with servicing the property. Check-in before 12:30pm would require booking the previous night at a much discounted rate. Contact host for details. Per CDC Guidelines, and in response to Covid 19, we have updated our cleaning procedures to reduce the possibility of contracting Covid 19, and to ensure that the spaces our guests are staying in remains up to standard and as clean as possible. *Please note that occasionally the owners visit the back unit and will be in the backyard.

Transit

Public Transit By streetcar: The brand new St. Claude Street car is just a 9 minute walk and will drop you off at several points along Rampart Street between the French Quarter and Armstrong Park or take you to Downtown via Canal Street. By bus: Both the 57 & 88 buses are just 2 blocks away on St. Claude and will get you to the French Quarter in 7 minutes! Driving We are just a 5 minute drive from the French Quarter and even closer to Frenchmen Street! Uber/Lyft will cost $5-7!!

Neighbourhood

This New Orleans neighborhood took off in 1830 when the Crescent City was a bustling steamboat port. Home to one of the country’s largest populations of free people of color before the Civil War, the neighborhood has a proud history. Come discover it. The community, formerly known as Faubourg Franklin, got its current name during a yellow fever epidemic in 1867 when the parish priest turned to Saint Roch, the patron of good health, to protect the community. The priest promised Saint Roch if no one in the parish died from yellow jack, he would build a chapel in his honor. As it turned out, no one from the Holy Trinity parish perished – in that epidemic or the one that followed in 1878, so the priest built a chapel as a shrine to St. Roch as well as a cemetery. You can still visit both today. Since Hurricane Katrina, St. Roch has become a burgeoning artistic community with a number of unique art galleries and hip restaurants. At the center of all the excitement is St. Roch Market at 2381 St. Claude, a former fish market that is now a “Southern Food Hall” (Translation: The most awesome food court you’ll ever experience). We love the crepes from the Dirty Dishes stall. Good luck choosing between the “Who Dat” with praline sauce and the "Munch" made with pulled pork, mac and cheese and barbecue sauce. The Art Garage, housed in a renovated auto body shop at 2231 St. Claude, is also a must-experience. On the third Saturday of every month, they host performance art, live graffiti and art exhibits of all kinds. And to get a real feel for the area, you might want to stop by Faubourg Wines at 2805 St. Claude Avenue. Owner Catherine Markel likes to say, “We are like the neighborhood water cooler, where people gather to discuss the events of the day — only with wine.”
