Property Description

Ilios - from the Ancient Greek term for 'sun' or 'sunlight', was constructed as a modern interpretation of an old Greek villa by combining the beauty of classic Mediterranean architecture with the comforts and conveniences of a present day tropical vacation home .  Staying true to this theme, this USVI villa rental features an open courtyard surrounded on three sides by the buildings which comprise the living spaces with the sundeck and pool on the southern side as the focal point of the property.  All of the living areas are on the ground level with the exception of one guest bedroom which is located on the second level of the main house.

Guests arriving at Ilios will park in the private driveway which is paved and easily accessible.  Entry into the courtyard is through a classic wooden gate which opens to the compound structure of this unique villa.  Guests will be breathless while taking in all of the beautiful and professionally maintained landscaping together with the inviting pool and pool deck lounging areas.  Inside the courtyard to the left is the courtyard powder room bath and a king bedroom suite.  This suite is fully air conditioned, has a HDTV with satellite TV services and DVD player and an en suite bath with garden shower.

The master bedroom is located straight ahead from the entry gate and overlooks an exotic hibiscus garden and the pool from its private balcony.  This air conditioned suite includes an HDTV with satellite TV programming, a DVD player and an en suite bathroom with garden shower.  The second floor air conditioned bedroom is located over the main house and is accessed via an exterior native stone staircase.  This bedroom features a queen sized bed, HDTV with satellite TV programming, a DVD player and en suite bath with tub/shower.  A tiled deck from this guest bedroom features glorious views of the Caribbean Sea and is the perfect location for morning coffee or 'sundowner' cocktails in the evening.

The air conditioned main house is entered through double mahogany doors which open into a dramatic great room highlighted by native stone arches leading into a comfortable living room and dining area.  Two walls of the great room feature custom made 8 ft mahogany louvered doors which allow dramatic views over the pool deck and the gardens surrounding this lovely villa as well as allowing the refreshing trade wind breezes to permeate the interior of the great room.  The living room is complete with tropical furnishings including an armoire with HDTV with satellite TV programming and a DVD player.  The adjacent indoor dining area has a rustic wooden table with seating for six or guests may choose to dine alfresco under the arbor covering a portion of the courtyard at a teak table with seating for six.

The custom built, fully equipped gourmet kitchen in this USVI villa rental is conveniently located adjacent to the great room.  Beautiful stainless steel appliances, a gas stove and all of the amenities and features required to prepare snacks to complete meals are conveniently available.  Ilios is a wonderfully appealing and charming vacation retreat which is perfect for two to three couples or small families vacationing on St. John.  With its convenient location and close proximity to beautiful beaches an an array of hiking trails and water sports, Ilios will certainly do its part to help you to 'Live the Dream'!

If both 12/25 and 12/31 are requested together, a 10 night minimum stay may be required.
