Property Description
The property benefits from spectacular views, and guests can use watersports facilities, golf course, spas and restaurants at nearby Elounda Mare, Porto Elounda or Peninsula hotel at an additional cost. The extensive grounds include an olive grove, a Roman tank, protected by Greek laws on antiquities and several large outdoor sculptures.
Outside the house, an infinity swimming pool (12 x 6m) faces the sea, and has a large terrace on three sides, with a dining area and barbecue. There is also a bathroom with changing area and shower. Pool heating, if required, is included in the price. A large terrace off the living room and dining room, also has an outdoor dining area with barbecue under pergola. Further away from the house, on a hillside, is a Davis Cup size tennis court, with an adjacent boules court. On the edge of the sea is a 6 meter by 4 meter platform with steps into the sea. On request, there is additional accommodation in a charming two bedroom cottage, on a lower level from the main house. The steepness of the grounds, makes the property unsuitable for unsupervised small children.
The interiors have a wonderful feeling of space, with very high ceilings, and the rooms are furnished with antiques from around the world. Full air conditioning/heating (controls in each room) is included in the rental price. The huge living room, with its 600-year-old fireplace and sea views on three sides, is furnished with large, comfortable sofas and fine art. The well stocked library also has a Boston Steinway grand piano, broadband wireless internet connection, fax and printer, and opens to a large balcony with sea and mountain views. On the lowest floor, there is a games room with billiard table and satellite TV, opening to the pool area on one side and a patio on the other. There are three superb bedrooms on the top floor, all with balconies and views, and four on the lowest floor, which open to patios and the garden.
